Alleria's new model is one of my least favorite redesigns in gaming history. It just doesn't feel like it fits at all in the universe, regardless of how it evolves.

@StephenKentX The issue with Andor is that it is not Star Wars. It is generic Sci-fy with a Star Wars skin. I loved the show, but it still just wasn't Star Wars.

I think this is right. Episode 9, not The Last Jedi, was the real killer. Then Kenobi, riding on the prequels' vast popularity amongst fans under 40, shattered any hope of a mainstream resuscitation. Yes, Andor was great for accolades and streams, but not breathing life.

On this topic, this actually is why I like the Red Dawn plot quite a bit, and how it handled the Scarlets. It takes the remnants of the original human villain organizations from vanilla WoW, and puts them into the context of the modern world with the modern factions.

@TSoS_ Jon Favreau told me all I need to about this movie in an interview: He wanted to make a 4th season, and not a movie.

To no one's surprise, every review from a non-Star Wars fan account is calling the Mandalorian and Grogu out for what the marketing has suggested for almost a year: This movie is a few episodes of the series stitched together. Apparently there's no narrative tissue that even connects it to the three Seasons of the series; its a strategic move through and through, testing the waters for Star Wars on the big screen after 7 years of absence and allowing everyone to see it, even those who never got past the first episode of the series. I'm fine with watching an Indiana Jones style space adventure and considering the terrible writing of the third Season, it might be for the better that there is no bigger plot here that connects to the series. But I can't help but think the same thing I thought when this movie was announced: Why? Why play it this safe and boring for your return to the big screen? You are STAR WARS. The most groundbreaking movie franchise in history. Why does your movie feel like a TV show? Why does it look like a TV show? These early reviews help to keep my low expectations even further in check. I still find it a very bleak situation and it's sad that I HAVE to root for this film's success at the box office, because only through big, very succesful flagship projects like this one can we even dream of getting something more niche like Andor again.

@BestMovieMom Pretty sure he took out the massive loan because he didn't want to work with movie studios to get the film made. He had so many issues with the first movie, he didn't want to go through that again.

George Lucas was so worried about "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) being a failure that he self-funded the entire movie. He took out a massive bank loan against his own property to maintain total creative control from the studios.

@SithAriSW I am less hopeful than you. While I absolutely love KOTOR and would love a modern remake, I do not think we will get a faithful remake. And with how many other Star Wars properties have been treated, I don't have much hope for the others. I do, however, hope I am wrong.

The Kenobi show has to be the single biggest blunder Disney has made outside of Ep 9. There was massive fan interest, they had a good per episode budget, legacy characters… but the result was mostly abysmal. So many non-hardcore fans gave Star Wars streaming a chance and had their time completely wasted.
