As @SenateCommerce turns its attention to live event ticketing this week, there’s one thing nearly everyone agrees on: the system should work better for fans. That's why we support the TICKET Act - targeting real abuse without restricting choice. realclearmarkets.com/articles/2026/…

"It’s hard to overstate how thoroughly Live Nation controls the live music business, and how directly that control hurts fans...Live Nation used its market dominance to prevent potentially less expensive or more innovative ticketers...from competing." nytimes.com/2026/03/17/opi…

Leaked messages showing executives laughing about "robbing fans blind" make it clear that Live Nation does not care about the people buying the tickets despite the company’s PR talking points. The trial continuing is an important step toward accountability.

A coalition of more than 30 states, most of which objected to a settlement between the Justice Department and Live Nation, the concert giant that includes Ticketmaster, will resume an antitrust case on Monday in Federal District Court in Manhattan. nytimes.com/2026/03/13/art…

Live Nation claims they care about the fan. Leaked messages show them laughing about "robbing them blind." That's why state AGs must continue the fight to protect consumers and breakup the Live Nation-Ticketmaster monopoly once and for all.

Latest from TPF in @WSJ: "The Ticket Policy Forum, a group for Ticketmaster’s competitors, said the settlement is ‘a token tap on the wrist.’ The trade group, whose members include SeatGeek and StubHub, urged states to continue the lawsuit." Read more: wsj.com/us-news/law/li…

After a strong first week at trial, it appears the DOJ has once again failed to protect live event fans and market competition with a settlement that will equate to less than a speed bump for the Live Nation-Ticketmaster monopoly.

While we await the details of the settlement agreement, it seems the DOJ has capitulated and the behemoth Live Nation has secured a token tap on the wrist. (1/2)

.@MarshaBlackburn and @tedcruz are holding Live Nation accountable on Wednesday. In my latest op-ed, I explain how Live Nation’s monopoly means fewer choices, higher ticket prices, junk fees, and worse service—just so everyday Americans pay more while one giant squeezes artists, venues, and fans.
