Nothing beats the nostalgia of a dish that takes you straight back to your childhood kitchen. This cucumber salad is a simple classic that reminds us why "made from scratch" will always win. The "Sunday at Granny's" Cucumber Salad 1/2 onion, sliced thin 2 cucumbers, sliced thin 1/2 cup vinegar & 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 tsp salt & 1/2 tsp pepper Shake & chill The Spin & Pairing The Spin: Add a pinch of fresh dill or red pepper flakes for a little kick that balances the sweetness. The Pairing: This is the ultimate side for a piece of crispy fried chicken or a hearty bowl of homemade mashed potatoes. There is a special kind of magic in recipes passed down through generations—they just taste like home.

No way y’all are eating butter balls coated in cinnamon sugar, like pure butter. Please say sike.

For some reason I don’t really like shrimp or scallops anymore. It all tastes rubbery to me now.

Remember when @DanielLurie campaigned almost two years ago on a “fentanyl state of emergency” for San Francisco? Instead next week apparently we’re (finally) getting 25 lazy boy chairs in a lounge — I guess technically they’re called “therapy recliners.” Apparently some of the THOUSANDS of street addicts and drug tourists are going to end up being sent to this unlocked “police friendly” (whatever that means) lounge for a little nap in their “therapy recliner” — and then as soon as they are done with their little nap they can VOLUNTARILY leave the lounge and go outside and buy drugs again and get high with their free city money, and their free city crack pipe, in their free city paid rat and drug infested SRO apartment. Meanwhile two a day still overdose and die every day in our city, Honduran fentanyl dealers are still given “sanctuary,” open air drug markets still run nightly in San Francisco — all while the mayor peddles his performative “San Francisco values” BS on Instagram and spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on PR agencies trying to pretend like things are getting better and hoping that people don’t pay attention to the Tenderloin or see any of @war24182236 videos that run almost EVERY SINGLE DAY.

We are reimagining Embarcadero Plaza, turning it into a true front door to downtown and a destination in its own right. This is part of our vision for a downtown where people live, work, play, and learn—with space for events, music, families, dogs, art, and more. The new Embarcadero Plaza and Sue Bierman Park will help us build on our momentum downtown, which powers the recovery for our entire city. Help us shape a space that reflects the best of San Francisco for generations to come. Leave a comment! ⬇️
