The Council of Elrond in Ralph Bakshi’s 1978 "The Lord of the Rings" is a masterpiece of rotoscoping. From John Hurt’s Aragorn to Anthony Daniels’ Legolas, this scene laid the groundwork for all future Middle-earth adaptations. A true cult classic! 🎬

Good call yesterday with @Keir_Starmer. We discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s actions are putting global economic stability at risk. We will work with our partners to ensure freedom of navigation can resume as soon as possible. We also discussed the upcoming EU-UK Summit. A key moment to deliver on last year’s commitments and further strengthen our partnership.

Ground beef is a solid protein, but peak nutrition requires more than just B12 and Zinc. High saturated fat intake can spike LDL cholesterol in hyper responders, and processed grinds often lack the diverse micronutrients found in organ meats or fibrous plants. True health isn't one-size-fits-all,it’s about the whole profile.

ground beef is peak nutrition loaded with vitamins, B12, b3, b6, b2, b6, zinc, phosphorous, iron and potassium, has collagenous bits, super easy to digest and is usually very cheap can make it into burgers or cook in a pan you have no excuse to not be healthy with ground beef

@SamaHoole You just blow in from stupid town buddy? People buy lean ground beef/turkey to reduce the calories. It has nothing to do with the nutrition of it. They simply want to eat ground beef, and they don’t want to have just a spoon full of it before it exceeds their daily calorie goal.

5% fat ground beef. Respect for the effort. Truly. You found the meat aisle. You picked beef over a protein bar. You are in the right postcode. But you have knocked on the wrong door. 5% ground beef is not food. It is a biological administrative error. It is what you get when someone removes the entire point of the exercise and charges you more for the privilege. Fat is not a byproduct of beef. Fat is the reason beef exists as a food. Fat is where the fat-soluble vitamins live: A, D, E, K2. Fat is what satiates you for six hours instead of ninety minutes. Fat is what makes the thing taste like something rather than a warm flavoured sponge. Your ancestors, without exception, ate the fat. They fought over it. Marrow was considered the prize of the kill. When the whole animal was available, the lean muscle meat was often the last thing people reached for. The fat went first. Every time. Across every culture. Across every continent. For two million years. And here you are in 2026, paying premium price for a product with the fat professionally removed, wondering why you're hungry again at 3pm and the beef tasted of nothing in particular. Get the 20%. Get the mince from the Aldi chilled section. £3.20, half a kilo, more nutrition per gram than the lean version at twice the price. Your ancestors would not be proud. They would be baffled.

@SamaHoole @SamaHoole you are my favorite follow & I'm doing well & losing weight on a animal-based/keto diet. I have concerns about this article from the journal of nutrition--can you comment? @SamaHoole @drawandstrike This is a retarded post. Feeling hungry is good, abstaining from over eating is good, eating lean meats is good.

@SamaHoole 5% ground beef is one of the smartest protein sources if you want results without making your diet miserable. Lean enough for the macros. Tasty enough to stay consistent. Simple foods. Serious results.

The BBC should make all of the Peel Sessions available to stream on the Sounds app. They're recordings of incredible cultural significance and shouldn't be left to languish in a vault.

Alan Partridge - Quote of the Day
Bacon ten on ten, button mushrooms–bingo, black pudding–snap. Minor criticism, more distance between the eggs & the beans! I may mix but I want that to be my decision. Use a sausage as a breakwater! But I’m nit-picking and on the whole a very good effort - seven on ten - let’s make love👌

The oldest meat & fish markets in London, which date back 850 years, face closure from 2028. Smithfield meat market & Billingsgate fish market are to close after the City of London Corporation recently voted to withdraw support. A huge blow to independent fresh food suppliers and British food supply chain heritage.
