For the first time in history, a woman is venturing to the Moon. NASA astronaut Christina Koch is set to make that milestone on NASA's Artemis II mission — a daring ~10-day journey that will send four astronauts on a voyage around the Moon and farther from Earth than any woman has ever traveled before. Serving as mission specialist aboard the Orion spacecraft, Koch will help test critical life support, navigation, and communication systems as the crew travels hundreds of thousands of miles into deep space. She already holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman — 328 days aboard the International Space Station — and in 2019, she took part in the first all-female spacewalk. Since the Apollo era, nearly 90% of astronauts have been men. Artemis II represents not only a leap in technology, but a profound shift in who gets to explore the cosmos. “If there’s something to celebrate, it’s that we are at a time when anyone who has a dream gets to work equally hard to achieve that dream,” Koch said. “If we’re not going for all and by all, we’re not truly answering humanity’s call to explore.”

We’ve always known Trump is an impatient bully. He’d rather strong-arm other nations instead of engaging in diplomacy. He’s attacked multiple and has said Cuba is “next.” While he’s focused on wars, folks at home can’t afford gas or groceries. This needs to stop.

Such a tremendous waste of time & resources. Next time give them trash bags & have them clean up the streets & parks they litter with water bottles & garbage. Not one of them knows what the hell they are protesting. Good media reporting would look into who is funding these "showtests". How about that? Or maybe you could do some research and put a segment together showing the public the things Trump does that make him a "King" but be sure to include the Democratic presidents action that were as bad or worse?? It wasn’t until tonight that I realized that after I first saw real combat [not we got shot at or the truck behind us took a hit… but I pulled a guy out of a wadi and put him on a bird missing parts and I really just hope he lived combat] I don’t have any pictures smiling. A lot of political opinions and overtures on this app. Even from combat vets like myself. Maybe we all need to take a stroll down memory lane and remember that day when we stopped smiling for pictures. When it was no longer exciting, but terrifying. Not the day we lost our nerve, but the day we actually found it. The day that the hypothetical became reality. The day we took a punch to the face and had to get up off the mat for more rounds. Remember that day and remember those who’ve lived it themselves in the past few weeks, most of them not combat MOSs. All of them heroes. I am so damn proud of the men and women who serve this country. They are not without fear. They are brave with it.

In December 2025, President Trump and @SecVetAffairs Doug Collins moved to ban access to abortion care at the VA, even in cases of rape, incest, or when the health of the mother is at risk. Earlier this week, the Senate voted on our bill to overturn that policy. 50 Republican Senators opposed it, meaning the abortion ban remains in effect. This threat to women's healthcare continues to be real. After losing elections in the wake of Roe falling, Republicans know that it's not politically popular to be publicly for abortion bans. So they do it just like this: quietly, in the dark of night, through bureaucratic rule-making -- hoping we won't catch it. Our veterans deserve access to abortion care. Period.
