A powerful new report on the Hazara community in Afghanistan has revealed urgent evidence of ongoing genocide and calls for immediate international action. Presented at a parliamentary meeting yesterday, the report—produced by the @NewlinesInst —documents systematic killings, forced displacement, sexual violence, and the deliberate destruction of Hazara communities by both the Taliban and ISIS-KP. onal Criminal Court. - Use universal jurisdiction to prosecute perpetrators. - Impose targeted sanctions and ensure humanitarian access and safe evacuation routes for Hazara civilians, especially women. This report is a wake-up call: the world must not turn away from the suffering of the Hazara people. There is a legal and moral duty to act now—before more lives are lost. #HazaraGenocide #GenocidePrevention #JusticeForHazaras

@ProfMulugeta That’s a different conversation. My post was simply to reaffirm the need to always choose the right terms, stand firmly on the right side, continue the fight we started, and maintain our discipline.

@ProfMulugeta Until that recognition happens, every word matters even more. That’s why for us, using generalized terms like “conflict,” no matter how technically correct in some contexts, risks minimizing the horror & delaying justice.

By endorsing this so-called process, Tegaru risk becoming instruments of the PP’s narrative helping Abiy Ahmed showcase a false “return to normalcy” in Tigray. But what we need is not a carefully staged performance of reconciliation. We need justice and justice only.

Ever since the Pretoria Agreement, Ashenda has been used by the Ethiopian government as a tool to project a false image of “normalcy.” They present it as proof that there is no division, that Tigrayans have rejoined Ethiopia, and that everything is back to harmony.
Habesha@habeshaTM

I feel the same. I still receive daily insults and have a defamation lawsuit filed against me because I was a voice for the women of Tigray during the war. Now seeing people who were simply silent then (or endorsed it) partying for Ashenda gives me dystopian vibes…
