Call of Duty : Black ops 7 (2025) (Campaign) 3 / 10 🌟 As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty franchise, it is genuinely disappointing to witness its current state, particularly in relation to the campaign experience. This installment stands out as one of the weakest campaigns I have encountered. The narrative fails to engage, largely due to its four central characters, who lack depth, personality, and any meaningful development. As a result, it becomes difficult to form any connection or investment in their journeys. The inclusion of boss fights further detracts from the experience. These encounters feel poorly conceived, with uninspired design and forgettable antagonists. At times, the gameplay reaches a point where the player is tasked with fighting something as unremarkable as a standard turret, which undermines the cinematic and immersive qualities the series is known for. Level design is another area of concern. Many environments appear to be repurposed or lightly modified versions of existing multiplayer maps, such as Yemen and Hijacked from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, as well as Verdansk from Call of Duty: Warzone. This reuse diminishes the sense of originality and creativity that traditionally defined the franchise’s campaign missions. Overall, the campaign lacks the innovation, narrative strength, and carefully crafted design that once set Call of Duty apart. So far I’m really enjoying Crimson Desert. Just exploring and immersing myself in the world is so enjoyable. Around 20 hours in and yet to explore so much more I can’t wait!
