Kenya cannot control international oil markets by itself, especially with the ongoing tensions and war involving Israel, Iran, and the USA, which have disrupted supply and pushed prices up worldwide. Even major economies are feeling the pressure. Let’s be honest rising fuel prices are a global issue, not just a Kenyan one. Ongoing tensions such as the Iran conflict and wider global political instability have disrupted oil supply chains, driving prices up worldwide. Kenya does not control international oil prices we are an importing country. What matters is how we respond. The government has taken steps to cushion citizens, including reducing VAT and injecting KSh 6.2 billion to stabilize fuel costs. Without these interventions, the situation at the pump would be far worse. This is not about poor leadership; it reflects deliberate and responsible action in the face of a global crisis. While Kenya is not the source of the problem, these measures show active efforts to manage its impact. This is a time for perspective. Globally the fuel has increased by 22%. In Kenya because of our visionary President, fuel prices have increased by 15%. In Canada and the USA the fuel increased by 30% and 25% respectively. In Cambodia it’s up by 68%, Hongkong at 69%, Vietnam by 50%; Nigeria it’s up by 35% and only available in few stations.
