Wrote this for my studies:
Black midfielders in the Premier League are often misprofiled as defensive workhorses, but the numbers tell a different story⬇️

The major concern is that we have much more informations available about teams than about players.
E.g. The game is shot mainly with long shots and impersonal zooms, tactical cams, drones in training.
How to articulate shared intentions with individual priorities? 🧵(1/x)

This from @JordiLieF is very fitting, we need to propose a more looser way of defining a teams attacking animation- not structured attack.

Final thoughts for today: we will post more tomorrow.
The 3-4-3 structure, in theory, causes problems for most systems. Ipswich pressed well against it, but the players in Amorim’s armoury didn’t have the solutions.
The system requires a lot of vertical play. Ipswich prevented passing lanes into the central midfield players, the wing-backs from passing forward, Garnacho struggled in the pockets, and Rashford could not link play.
Amorim will, of course, work on the training ground to improve the players he has, and the system will help blow some teams away.
The Premier League is a beast though. Hurzeler said yesterday that the tactical detail needed for every game is another level.
The beauty of Amorim’s system is its simplicity. With the right players in the right roles, Man United will undoubtedly be challenging for Champions League places again.
However, the system's simplicity means top tacticians (McKenna is one) will soon organise teams to counter the strengths of the 3-4-3.
Amorim is where he is for a reason. He’s a top, top coach who has come across very well. He will need to continue his development, and the Premier League is the best place to do it and keep the opposition guessing with a variance in tactics.

#Ajax

@Ruxiiii4 @Jon_Mackenzie Every player knows what they have to do in each situation. Arteta built a machine

@markgoldbridge Dont you think that united need a full rebuild? Now you have a coach from another director of football. And players from other coaches AND DOF. You need a system where everything is aligned

@Simey_Colls @coachtonymee True but liverpool will also press when Onana would pass it to one of the CB’s. I think they do it because Onana has the best long pass ability
English

@coachtonymee They are encouraging the press, so it's more likely Onana will find someone free when he goes long. If they go long with no plan, they are less likely to secure possession with smaller players up there beyond Hoijland.
