The only above option I would never consider is the first one. The other three all seem desirable in their ideal forms. But that walkable big city neighborhood might have more nearby urban dysfunction than I'd like, that small town possibly no one I'd have anything in common with, and driving a half-hour to the grocery or hardware store gets old when you live out in the middle of nowhere.
My ideal, though, remains a house out in the middle of a semi-arid landscape with mountains in the distance.

@avidseries In the mid-west, there's a fifth option which is my favorite. It's the rural area that is near a good-sized city. You live in a wooded area on lots of land, but all the amenities are within a 10-15 minute drive. It's like a suburb, but much more spread-out, wooded properties.

Karmelo was in a place he wasn't supposed to be. When some kids called him on it and asked him to leave (15 times!). He felt "disrespected", so he threatened them--while having his hand on a hidden knife. After enough time, Austin "lightly shoved" him, then Karmelo immediately plunged a knife into his chest.
