@ryancassidycbb It's a shooters game, needs to get more consistent with the 3 ball. needs to cut down on TO's and overdribbling too but overall he had a great frosh campaign.

So impressed with the court-vision from Villanova's Acaden Lewis as a Freshman Runs the offense beautifully. Eight assists and counting. Ceiling is extremely high.

@frankingeneral Two things can be true at same time. It was very close game for 36 minutes, tie with 4 to go. Nova fell apart, a collapse, in last 4 minutes. Being outscored 11-1 at end qualifies as a collapse.

The worst part of March is fucking idiots talking like they know something about the sport lol A) it was a tight game the whole way, there was no “collapse” B) it’s Willard’s first fucking year & they hadn’t made the tournament the prior 3 seasons. It was a successful year C) they effectively had a 6 man rotation because they were down a key front court starter. They tired out because of this. Nothing fireable about it

Villanova’s Tyler Perkins, Acaden Lewis, and Duke Brennan all just spoke to the media. They all took their name tags with them as a souvenir but were told they can’t take them. Perkins took a picture of his name tag on his way out.

I’ll have more cohesive thoughts later, but I’m left with this. What a horrible way to go out. Missed opportunity is a phrase we’ve been saying for weeks now. FTs, Brennan’s misses around the rim, and TOs killed the team late. This was a winnable game, and it’s SO disappointing.

@HoopsWeiss He was great, kept Nova in the game. Brennan, Lewis and Perkins all struggled. Missed Hodge too. Lack of depth hurt, they looked gassed in last 4 min. Poor execution down the stretch. Time to go portalling!!!!

interestingly, Villanova guard Bryce Lindsay may have played his best game of the season, scoring 25 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Lindsay shot 9 for 18 with 6 of 11 threes.

@capj1344 Really wanted that W, but let's be realistic, a game vs. AZ team would have not gone well. Team showed no ability to hang with big boys this season.

@patrickscanlon_ shooting a ton of 3s doesn't lead to many trips to FT line, and fouling 3 shooters isn't the smartest thing to do. Nova did both.

Heartbreaking stretch there for Villanova. Up 10 in the 2nd, to out in the first round. Hard to win a game when a team shoots 24 more free throws than you. Utah State now moves to 3-20 in their last 23 March Madness games. Arizona looms. For Nova, all eyes now look to Rome…

Long term, we got back to the tournament, where we belong each year. Build on that, hopefully we can retain some of our guards and target SIZE in the portal. The floor was met with this roster, but next year with a more talented team, it’s time to start winning these bigger games

73-73 with 4 minutes to play .... and 'Nova didn't do much of anything right in those four minutes in a 10-point loss to Utah State.

They played a good enough to win… and then it fell apart the final 4 minutes. Was kind of reminiscent of the final 4 minutes of the BYU game. Blame it on experience, fouling, coaching, rebounding… whatever, but they didn’t execute late against a team that pounds your mistakes
