@Vegas_AV_Ace @AVIXA Would it negatively impact the reputation of a CTS if a designer or engineer is leading with old technology or isn't able to speak on current technology advancements in the industry? Would you want someone selling you 3 year old technology for your spaces?

@Vegas_AV_Ace @AVIXA Having a CTS represents that you have a certain level of knowledge in the AV industry. The RU program means that you are staying up to date with current advancements. If as a CTS holder, I don't do anything to stay up to date with technology, would that impact how I do business?

A discussion for CTS holders & the committee at @AVIXA. The 30 RU every 3 years is great, but can you call it continuing education for those who cram in their 30 RU in the last 3-6 months prior to renewal? Should we push for an annual RU minimum? #AVTweeps #ProAV #AVRebl

@AlexisLaBroi @AVIXA How do you feel about the CTS holders that are not learning annually and only do training/learning to obtain the RU requirements right before renewal? Do you think these people impact the reputation of CTS holders?

@TimDuncan_CTS @AVIXA I think most folks ARE actually learning every year, but whether the time actually counts towards CTS, maybe no. Every manufacturer meeting is a learning opportunity, for instance, but not all CTS certified. I’d be annoyed if I HAD to prove something on a yearly basis.

@chris_neto @AVIXA I am a big fan of @Avixa 's webinar series and their Power Hour series. Typical webinars will give you 1.0 RU for a 1 hour webinar and it automatically is added to your transcript. Easy learning during lunch for me.

@TimDuncan_CTS @AVIXA I'd like it extended over 5 year since the most availablr online courses are .5 RUs.

@chris_neto The convergence of AV & IT has fuelled this as IT staff have been given the responsibility of managing AV. I also believe that there is a shift with the manufacturers to be more open to the direct to customer model as well. #AVintheAM #AVTweeps #AVRebel

@_AVAP It is a bit of a drive to get to the closest one to me but I made sure to take my kids when they were younger so they could experience the fun of the drive in.

@chris_neto Be a sponge and learn from any and all sources, especially those with experience. Ask questions. Key skill is customer service and how to clearly communicate with a customer. I think face to face communication is becoming a lost art. #AVintheAM #AVTweeps #AVRebel
