I wonder if there is means for a SOS output that models similarly to how bids are allocated for European competition slots in soccer, rewarding performance over an interval while not attempting to slant too hard in one direction (understanding the problems with such)

@TimFreligh @CheyChey1522 @64Analytics_Sfb It is using past opposition, future opposition, and cumulative opposition. It's what the RPI uses for SOS. We wanted to be unbiased with SOS.

We talked a lot as a team and increased the weighted value for the pitching metrics nearly 2x. Doesn’t change the individual rankings, but when it comes to a team rankings, it needed to be adjusted. Appreciate the feedback.

I ask because DII and DIII non-conference slates can create substantial outliers with regionality compared to DI. A weighted conference performance measure in the future could help at all levels.

Pitching Metrics [P-ops/whip/xfip/ra|ab] Hitting Metrics [ops/woba/r|pa/rc|ab] Efficiency Metrics [wrce/wrae] SOS [from NCAA] Win Percentage We increased the pitching metrics this week pretty substantially. Perhaps too much, but trying to find the sweet spot.

@mid_madness There was a pause in the plans, I think. There was momentum last winter/spring for Nova, West Florida, and Lincoln Memorial piecing together plans to move up, but a pause was instituted for a reason.

I would love to see Nova Southeastern or NYU WBB in the NCAA Tournament, actually (get NSU in the ASUN next year please)
