"Why is Luzardos ERA so high" because shit like this happens to him on the daily
Ryan M. Spaeder@theaceofspaeder

#Phillies Jesús Luzardo ranks 76th of 77 qualified pitchers with a 5.77 ERA. He ranks 15th with a 2.95 FIP, third with 11.7 K/9, and has broken savant. What is the disconnect? A .386 BAbip... highest in baseball. FWIW, Cristopher Sanchez is 3rd highest at .360. Defense.

Grandma tells us not to trust two kinds of men. 1. Those who don’t mow their own grass 2. Men with two first names. For @RickRyanWV and Jimbo @JimmyTreacy we would normally make exceptions. Since they’re MIA tonight we don’t trust ‘em. We are scoreless after 1️⃣. #wvprepbase

You gotta love tourneys that are $2k to play in, have gate fees, stay to play, and have sanction fees. Bleeding every last drop of $ out of teams, orgs, and families. At some point this bubble will pop...

@zklemmeHD I always thought 64 was a good, easily divisible number. Anything above that gets weird and is unnecessary.

I don’t remember ever hearing a single fan thinking this is a good idea. What the leadership is not understanding is that they could expand the tournament to a kerbillion teams. And they would still have exactly the same problems they have now with the kerbillion and first team
Sports Business Journal@SBJ

NCAA leadership is expected to finalize an expansion of the men’s and women’s tournaments to 76 teams soon after this year’s tournament 🏀 The proposal would add eight games to the First Four, with 24 teams playing in an opening round before advancing into the main bracket. @SportsTalk_304 @OLearySW I thought the free and reduced lunch numbers actually reflected the real poverty in our schools. Tolsia and Mount View were at the bottom of the list. That’s why I proposed using that when finding competitive balance. Plus this was school specific and not county-wide.

I'm in a map making mood. WV's median household income in 2024 was $60,798. Counties ranged from $31,559 in McDowell to $98,806 in Jefferson. WV ranks 50th out of the 50 states for median household income.

@SportsTalk_304 @OLearySW We also noticed that Mineral County’s MHI increased over $22,000 in a 4 year period and Doddridge’s went up around $19,000 in a 4 year period. Useless information.

@TimGeorgeSV @OLearySW Yeah this can definitely be misleading. I guess it's kinda like how everyone is quick to point out the salaries in Berkeley/Jefferson County, but don't mention that it's almost 200k just to live in a cardboard box down by the river over here

@OLearySW @SportsTalk_304 For instance, Boone County’s MHI is almost $9,000 higher than Greenbrier’s. That’s just not accurate. They used this some data in classification. That’s one reason we all won our appeals. It’s bad data.

@OLearySW @SportsTalk_304 If you research MHI, it’s not supposed to be used for a county by county comparison. They basically just adjust the numbers periodically for inflation and they don’t adjust all 55 counties at the same time. With the classification stuff, we figured out it’s a bad metric.

“We’ve had a lot of chaos in high school sports…and it’s good to see that get reeled back in,” Spring Valley AD @TimGeorgeSV said of today’s change to the state’s H.S. transfer rules. “I do think it will level the playing field for everyone.” Story ⬇️ wsaz.com/2026/03/31/wva…

BREAKING – Gov. Morrisey signs the WV high school transfers bill. “Under the newly adopted rule, student-athletes transferring during their freshman or sophomore years will retain eligibility, while transfer restrictions remain in place for upperclassmen.” Story coming soon

@SportsTalk_304 This was a team effort with a lot of folks involved. I’m glad to put this behind us so that we can move forward with the best interest of our kids in mind. We need to end the chaos and get back to the community values that we have in West Virginia.

Shout-out to @TimGeorgeSV for helping facilitate a solution to a major problem. This is a significant improvement over the free-for-all we've had over the last couple years.
Zack Klemme@zklemmeHD

Per George, the new SSAC rule breaks down as follows: “Basically, kids can transfer one time in the ninth or 10th grade. It has to take place before Sept. 1. They also get one transfer back, but that has to take place prior to their junior year.”

@zklemmeHD @OvertimeWv So I understand it, if you decide to transfer back to your home school district, it must be before Sept 1st of your junior year?
