@sweatystartup @SahilBloom Not many people who are getting paid to play sports doing that either. Imagine million+ dollar assets not being able to play effectively because of a workout. Plenty of ways to load with belt squat, dumbbells, etc. with less downside

@SahilBloom No reason for anyone who isn’t getting paid to play sports to put a bar on their back or lift one

What’s the single most hated exercise everyone should be doing? I’ll start: Bulgarian Split Squats.

@thegarybrecka Completely agree to the original premise but the second thing you list is a supplement? I’m an advocate for magnesium, but first let’s talk about time to bed and wake up consistency, light, temperature, and noise

Sleep hygiene > supplements Start here: – No food 3 hrs before bed – Magnesium glycinate 1 hr before – Red light or no light – No phone after 9 You don’t have a sleep disorder. You have a light, mineral, and circadian problem.

I’ll never understand people still thinking they can out train a bad diet 700+ cals burned on this ride (not riding for the cals, just proving a point). If I was doing this just to burn cals, I could’ve saved myself an hour by not eating 700+ cals in 5 mins like some do

Everyone wants to be and early adopter of technology, but most don’t have the buy-in, interest, knowledge, time, or money to use said technology. They just think it’s what they should be doing because others are Ask the right questions and you’ll realize how to find the answers

The goal of data collection isn’t information; it’s knowledge If the data doesn’t have a meaningful impact on the program, are you asking the right questions? Are you (quickly) communicating data to the correct stakeholders? Should you even be spending time/money on the tech?

@mboyle1959 Any specific reason you don’t in-season? I used to only program it in the early off-season as “tissue remodeling” but changed my stance to keep them in consistently in hopes of maintaining length-tension relationships so less “remodeling” needs to be done after the season

Copenhagen planks are gold standard for adductor strengthening But in-season, many players can’t tolerate the movement (even modified with a short lever) Don’t underestimate a simple hooklying adductor squeeze where players can moderate the amount of tension they’re creating

People criticize because it helps them justify the risks they chose not to take, in the hopes that it will dissuade you from doing it, so that you can be in the exact same position as them Block out the noise, keep going

Bonus: Leadership training should start early, because bad habits are hard to break. Starting with young kids may be key. Even if you’re not the highest up leader, you can be leader of a small group - position group, non-starters, etc. to build your leadership skills.
