I got to know Ray because he did a late night show and I did an early show, he’d leave work, go home & drink a glass of red then call into my show for a natter because he just loved radio, he was a little more relaxed and great fun on those calls. Good times. RIP Uncle Ray.

I made a documentary about him once, it’s on an old MD somewhere, his love for Beatles, Cliff Richard, Matt Monro etc ran deep in his blood, he was so proud to have met them. His record collection was supposedly something else...
