Everyone always talks about Lords shouldn’t always get a test but Why should The Oval be guaranteed a test match every single summer, when there are other grounds that don’t get anything. That never gets talked about.

My first Test at The Oval was 1986 (v New Zealand 🇳🇿), and Mum and I came here every year until I left school. Now youngsters wouldn’t be able to be here - they went back to school yesterday! Daft

@cricketslave @huwzat I had to stop my lesson and let the pupils and me watch in 2005. Partly, this was in retaliation for lessons being cancelled for some kickball world cup. The Head promised that he would treat cricket equally. Of course, he didn't.

@huwzat There have been a few September Oval Tests. 2005, 2019 and 2022 immediately spring to mind. It does make it difficult to catch up the overs lost to weather. No way can they play to 7.30pm.
