@CPowers14 I just hope it doesn’t eliminate some great venues bc the pga is worried about it being too cold. Like you said as long as it’s playable I don’t think we should worry about them being a little cold in low 50 degree weather.

@CPowers14 Spot on. I like the schedule better with it August but the weather plays a huge factor in the test of the golf course to your point. Also the ground is so much softer due what I suspect is more rain in August.

I can’t believe anyone is anti-May PGA in the northeast. Watching these pampered fucks act like 53 degrees is 33 degrees and look miserable in the mornings is cinema. Weather playing a huge factor is what made Oak Hill/Bethpage so good too - both single digit under par winners btw.
It’s like watching a major in the fall. Just missing a Northwestern-Purdue game on TV2 right now

How is getting $8 billion from State coffers and $2.3 billion from deferring pension payments bringing a budget down to zero?
The same NYC taxpayers that pay the bulk of NYC taxes are paying the $8 billion of state taxes that are funding the budget gap.
This budget ‘fix’ is robbing Peter to pay Paul and it didn’t work out well for either of them.

It’s funny the disparity between what we as fans (on a whole) like to see in a major, and what the players do. A bunched leaderboard heading into the weekend where we have no idea who’s going to win is pretty high on my list personally. Best PGA Championship for a while imo.

This is the ultimate midwit healthcare take.
No, 32 countries have not “figured out” universal healthcare.
The UK has “free” healthcare, and roughly 1 in 3 cancer patients in England still fail to start treatment within 62 days of urgent referral.
Canada has “free” healthcare, and the median wait for neurosurgical treatment is around a year.
Australia has “free” healthcare, and over half the country still buys private insurance despite paying for a public universal system with their taxes.
Switzerland has universal coverage, because residents are required to buy private insurance. There is no government system where benevolent bureaucrats tuck you in at night with a warm blanket and an MRI appointment.
The actual lesson from other wealthy countries is not “they figured it out.”
America’s system has huge problems. Our prices are insane, insurance markets are distorted, and hospital systems are cartelized. Our regulations make care more expensive than it needs to be.
Yet we still guarantee access to even the 8% who don’t have coverage. We give easy routes to qualify for medicaid for those with disabilities.
Pretending the rest of the world solved healthcare because they slapped the word “universal” on a rationing scheme is not analysis.
It is bumper sticker policy for people who think access means having a card in your wallet while you wait a year to see the doctor you need.
