The first time I watched Chernobyl was in 2019 on a flight from Los Angeles to Singapore. It's one of the world's longest flights, but that one felt different because I watched the entire series from start to finish, then immediately watched it all over again from start to finish. I'd never done that anything like that before, I've never done it since, and I probably never will again. It really is that good.

Released in 2019, part of this limited-series’ appeal is the fact that we get to see Jared Harris and Stellan Skarsgård at the absolute top of their game. The storytelling here is ripping yet totally haunting. When I think of a perfect limited-series, I think of Chernobyl.

The Medieval Warm Period was in fact a global phenomenon. There are dozens of paleoclimate studies from around the world showing this. No amount of mining for Hockey Sticks in red noise can change that. It was widely accepted as being global until the 1990s. What’s debatable is whether or not it is warmer today than it was then.

@ChrisMartzWX In Greenland, it's warmer today than the Medieval Warm Period, but on par with the Roman and Minoan Warm Periods. Based on climate cycles, we're likely in a repeat of the Minoan Warm Period. It's even possible that we're entering a cool period. The 3560-year cycle is global.

@Alfonso24680 Schwer zu sagen. Die Station befand sich am Anfang im Ortskern (des Dorfs!), als die Stadt größer wurde hat man sie mehrmals verlegt. Die Werte sind aber laut GHCN bereits adjustiert. Als Beleg für globale Erwärmung kann die Station jedenfalls nicht dienen.
