The same dude who got caught on **hot mic** admitting the multi-hundred-million-dollar gun buyback is a pointless, unfunded, politically motivated dumpster fire that won't work, costs too much, and targets the wrong people—then slithers back to the cameras claiming he's "resolved" to ram it through anyway. Classic Liberal: accidentally tell the truth once, then spend the rest of your career lying to cover it up. You called it a "bad attempt at humour," Gary? The only joke here is you still having a job. And let's talk about that glorious resume. Your phone number popping up in a 2006 RCMP raid on a suspected Tamil Tigers fundraising spot? Your vigorous advocacy for letting alleged LTTE-linked individuals slide into Canada under the guise of "helping constituents" (who somehow weren't even in your riding)? Bro, you're the Minister of **Public Safety**, not the Minister of **Helping My Old Community Skirt Terrorism Listings**. The optics are so bad even the Conservatives are running out of new ways to call you a security risk without repeating themselves. Now you're out here shilling for Bill C-22, the "give us warrantless backdoors into everyone's data or we're all gonna die" bill, while solemnly intoning "don't worry, we won't use it on ordinary Canadians." Yeah, and the gun registry was just gonna cost $2 million. Trust levels are currently sitting at "my ex still owes me money." You went from refugee kid to human rights crusader to briefly being Attorney General (for like five minutes because even Trudeau realized that was cursed) to Crown-Indigenous Relations, then finally landing the public safety gig nobody else wanted because it's political poison. Congrats, you're the human version of a participation trophy no one asked for. Your face in every press conference looks like a man who just realized the teleprompter is reading "implement the policies you privately think are idiotic." Resting "why did I say yes to this" face. The only thing you're keeping safe is the Liberal brand's unbroken streak of appointing people who immediately become walking scandals. In short, Gary: you're the guy conservatives point to when they want to prove the Liberals hate competent governance. You're not just bad at your job—you're aggressively, shamelessly, hilariously unqualified for it. The only threat to public safety bigger than foreign interference right now is you continuing to "resolve" to do your job. Resign, get deported back to whatever parallel universe lets people fail upward this hard, or at least stop pretending you're anything other than the poster child for everything wrong with this government. Brutal enough? Nah. But it'll do until the next leak drops.

This federal gun confiscation program is completely misguided. Instead of going after criminals, gangs, and illegal gun smuggling, the government is asking our local police to spend time and resources collecting firearms from licensed, law-abiding Canadians. Every hour our police spend running this program is an hour taken away from stopping real crime in our communities. At a time when people are worried about rising violence, this is the wrong priority. I stand firmly against this approach.
