It warmed my heart to hear Charley Steiner calling play by play with Rick Monday at the beginning of tonight's Dodger radio broadcast. Charley's been battling health problems for a couple years and is probably not up for the "full 9" yet, but he sounded energetic and sharp. 👏👊

@awfulannouncing How many seasons with SF is Bonds NOT in the team picture. He couldn’t be bothered to take a few minutes to be in the team photo. Someone run what Bonds said about beings great teammate on the field by Andy Van Slyke for his thoughts on that.

Barry Bonds: "I may not have talked to anybody off the field. That was just me. Alright? But on that field, I was probably the best teammate you would ever have. I took more walks for my team. Got on base for my team. And that's what baseball is about..."

@Jimfrombaseball Didn't DiMaggio hold a grudge against pretty much everybody until the day he died? Sadly, it sure seems that way.

"I hit seven home runs in 4 consecutive games. That was quite a feat and it's a record today." A MLB rookie at almost 26, he was further shortchanged by being on horrible Athletics team's in the 1950's. Didn't make the 1951 All-Star Team despite 33 Home Runs and 129 RBIs: Won the Home Run/RBI crown in 1951. All-Star in '53." Gus "Ozark Ike" Zernial. Nicknamed "Ozark Ike" after the popular comic strip character, Zernial was one of the most feared sluggers in the 1950's, joining HOF Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Larry Doby in the American League for most home runs in the decade. In 1949, a starlet by the name of Marilyn Monroe came to do a pictorial with the White Sox. "Marilyn was such a nice girl. She asked a bunch of questions about baseball, she was really interested in the game." Gus Zernial was chosen to pose with rising star Monroe in a movie-studio publicity shot. Joe DiMaggio was so struck by Marilyn in the photo's, and DiMaggio asked the rival outfielder how to reach Marilyn. When Joe DiMaggio started dating Monroe years later, they asked him about Marilyn and Gus, and the Yankee Clipper made a disparaging remark about Zernial, that: “Marilyn would never date a bush leaguer like Zernial.” For some reason known only to Joe DiMaggio, he held a grudge against Gus Zernial until the day DiMaggio died.

@upliftandlift @Ch_JesusChrist @ldscharities She wasn’t “demoted”. The entire RS General Presidency was released after 5 years of service, which is normal. You’re either intentionally misleading or ignorant of that fact. We are commanded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to love everyone. Period. Full stop.

🚨 UPDATE: Look at the DAMAGE one woman has caused! Sharon Eubank is one of the most devastating mistakes the @Ch_JesusChrist has ever made in leadership. Sharon was demoted from RS 1st Counselor to Director of @ldscharities after This BYU Conference queer stint 👇🏼, but she should have been publicly corrected, righted herself, or subject to ex-communication. Bottom line: Sharon has proved to be a wolf in sheep's clothing— an anti-Christ.

🚨SHOCKING ESCALATION IN UTAH The LDS Church – which donated $25K to build Utah's largest mega-mosque (Utah Islamic Center) and other mosques in the state – is NOW exposed for partnering with Hamas-linked ministries & financing Hamas contractors! New March 23, 2026, reveals LDS Charities (Church's humanitarian arm) has funneled support to terror-aligned Islamic groups – far beyond what was known. Key facts: 🔺LDS Charities partnered with Medglobal, an Illinois-based charity that openly boasted of collaborating directly with Hamas’s Ministry of Health in Gaza (2020 announcement lists LDS Charities alongside Hamas-connected Rahma Worldwide and Taliban-linked Islamic Oasis). Medglobal received $200,000 from LDS in 2017 and $1.9 million in 2019, with support continuing in recent years. 🔺 Rahma Worldwide (Michigan charity) has signed contracts with senior Hamas officials, including designated terrorist Ghazi Hamad (who vowed to repeat the October 7 attacks “time and again”). Internal Hamas documents from 2022 confirm Rahma’s Gaza director is “affiliated with Hamas.” Aid workers in Gaza wore jackets bearing both LDS Charities and Rahma logos — along with the logo of RIHS, a Kuwaiti group designated by the U.S. Treasury for supporting Al-Qaeda. LDS has listed Rahma as a major partner for over a decade, with joint projects in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and beyond - continuing even after Rahma’s terror ties became public. In March 2026, Rahma released a video of a new joint LDS-Rahma project in Syria. 🔺 LDS Charities funded Bayader Association, a Gaza-based group that coordinates closely with Hamas ministries and whose staff have publicly praised Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists. LDS supported Bayader welfare projects in Gaza (2014–2016), including untraceable cash grants - a method experts say often subsidizes terror recruitment and operations. 🔺 The Church has long collaborated with Islamic Relief (Muslim Brotherhood-linked, designated a terror organization by the UAE), serving as its largest donor after the 2004 tsunami and contributing millions in goods and services. These partnerships persisted years after the groups’ terror connections were reported. When previously challenged, the LDS Church dismissed concerns as “false” without addressing specifics, claiming no aid was diverted - yet the collaborations continued. 🔺 This is the same Church that promotes “interfaith friendship” while funding mosque construction in conservative Utah, where conversions are surging and Republican leaders (Gov. Cox, SLC mayor in hijab at City Hall iftar) are accommodating Islamic events with zero reciprocity from Muslim-majority nations. Utah Mormons: Your tithing dollars are building mega-mosques at home and - indirectly - supporting Hamas-aligned networks abroad. This isn’t compassion. It’s dangerous, one-sided enabling of the ideology now infiltrating red-state Utah. See the full report: meforum.org/church-of-latt…

@SasakiJordan @BBGreatMoments Agree with your first 3, but Lincecum?? His combined war over his last 5 seasons was -4.6. His only positive WAR year in his last 5 was a whopping WAR of 0.3. Lincecum had 2 great years, in the 2nd and 3rd year of his career. Then 2 decent ones, and then nothing for the last 5.

@FatPastor @BBGreatMoments He was never going to get to 600 HR’s. His last two seasons were not good. At the pace he was at, he would have needed 6 more seasons to get to 600. All-time great, but he was done when he retired.

@scovell222 @BBGreatMoments We better define “elite.” He pitched until he was 42. His last 5 seasons he only had one year where his ERA was below 4.00. His last few MLB seasons were not elite; no way 3 more years to age 45 would have somehow been elite. He had nothing left in the tank when he retired.

@BBGreatMoments Greg Maddux is the only post-WWII HOF pitcher I can think of who had more than three legitimate elite seasons left in the tank (leaving aside guys like Koufax who had injury or early-onset arthritis issues). Among HOF hitters, obvious answer (retired too early) is Alex Rodriguez.

@wtfpeople215 @OleTimeHardball Maybe he would have hit .450 for the WS with max effort. Maybe several flyballs he let up on so they fell for hits, where he could have caught them? Maybe he simply forgot they handed him $5,000 and promised him another $15,000. It has nothing to do with him being illiterate.

@JPL0575 @OleTimeHardball A year later, in late 1920, the players signed confessions when they appeared before the grand jury. Amazingly, when they went to trial, the signed confessions had disappeared from the DA's office. Supposedly Comiskey took care of that- he didn't want his ballclub ruined.

@S_R_Ellison @OleTimeHardball The $5,000 he got paid for throwing it, plus his knowledge that 7 of his teammates were in on it also would suggest he did have something to do with the Black Sox scandal. He does not deserve to be in.

@JPL0575 @OleTimeHardball There was nothing to read. You think crooks put that in writing?? He received $5,000 to throw the WS, and knew that 7 other players were in on it. When he was alive, he shouldn't have been allowed in the HOF even if he bought a ticket.
