I know the introduction of 10% shares this becomes more of a consideration, but I think in practice, it's going to be unlikely to present a real issue. This is where your brokers are going to be essential.. #sochathour

@ResourcesShared@Clarion_Group Like any leasehold property you can contact your feeeholder to discuss the option to extend your lease. I'd hope people enter a leasehold arrangement researching the tenure and having legal advice and understanding the terms. It's a choice how people choose to buy.
@TimSeward8@Clarion_Group But it's not actually an asset in the same way as a freehold house. If your personal circumstances involve, say, needing to sell it to pay for health care as you get older, it's not a flexible asset if you haven't extended your lease. It could have zero value. #SOchathour
Q3 - shared ownership is wonderfully flexible. You can staircase up in tranches that suit you, you can sell your share at any stage or you can stick with your original share. All are valid decisions depending on your personal circumstances. #Sochathour@Clarion_Group
