Is anyone successfully using open source AI models to code? And if so, what and where can I learn? Feels like in the next few months the model companies are gonna start shafting us all hard.

@TimWongHQ So I think it's not about expanding the human context window but protecting it/using it efficiently and allocating our limited attention/memory deliberately

feel like every day im learning multi-task to a different level thanks to AI - welcome any tips to maximize the human context window..

5/ An FDE can build the system. They can't change who makes the call, or how.

I'm not convinced if the FDE model is going to work for every enterprise AI rollout

4/ Same risk with AI. You can have traditional people using AI tools and call it transformation. The harness around the decision is still the old one.

3/ Reminds me of data transformation. Everyone wanted to be data-driven. Most companies just wanted dashboards. The decision layer never changed.

2/ The harder part is the business and people layer. How a company actually makes decisions takes years to understand, not a contract based engagement.

1/ FDE done well requires deep context on the product, the workflows, and the tech debt nobody wrote down. Hard, but solvable with time - just not sure if it's within the duration of a FDE contract

“we gonna yolo our way into running the biggest conf in town.” and somehow… we actually did it with @aiDotEngineer singapore a year ago, @agrimsingh @unprofeshme and i joked about the idea of running our own conference (after finishing an escape room). the idea started from frustration - that there wasn't a quality conference built for builders, by builders in asia. that there's so much untapped talent here yet ppl think the "scene is dead." it’s not dead. there’s an absurd amount of untapped talent here. the right people just weren’t in the same room. and instead of waiting around for someone else to step in, we decided to do it ourselves. 5 ppl, all part-time, running on agents and fumes. and this week, somehow, that turned into minister vivian balakrishnan keynoting alongside many of the best ai companies and builders in the world. thank you @swyx for trusting us to bring @aiDotEngineer to asia. and thank you to our team, volunteers, speakers, sponsors, and everyone who believed in this before it was obvious. let’s make a little history this week.
