Things are moving quickly, and I’ll be watching developments closely. Reports from the Financial Times suggest President Zelensky could replace Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, although no final decision has been made. Read my latest piece on what is rapidly becoming one of the biggest political shake-ups in modern Ukrainian history, and how democracy is playing out in real time under the pressures of war.

Was removing Mykhailo Fedorov really the right decision? Looking beyond the headlines, the chronology raises uncomfortable questions about reform, innovation and political leadership in wartime Ukraine. Have we just shot ourselves in the foot, yet again? open.substack.com/pub/shaunpinne…

Pressure will continue to mount on President Zelensky after what many have described as the most controversial decision of his presidency. If reports prove accurate, he could now find himself replacing Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi as well.

Day two of protests after Ukraine's government reshuffle. The crowd in Kyiv is already bigger than yesterday.

For those claiming the Blue Angels incident yesterday was perfectly fine, here is their lead pilot, Captain Adam Bryan, saying it was unsafe and that they will work to make sure it doesn't happen again. Listen to this guy, not Hegseth or his PR guy. I'm glad the people who matter are taking it seriously.

@AnnaFromUA_YT It seems to boil down to: meat-grinder tactics vs. intelligent, fast, 21stCentury tactics. Meat-grinder is never good, but with Ukraine's relative lack of manpower it is suicidal. Syrskyi needs to be replaced and the modernisation continued.

🇺🇦 Many of you asked about the decision regarding Mykhailo Fedorov. I waited before commenting because I still hope it can be reconsidered. The public reaction has been overwhelming—many Ukrainians, including our soldiers, see Fedorov as the face of innovation: drones, AI, digital reforms, and a modern approach to warfare. 💥 This isn’t just about one person. It’s about a choice between 21st-century warfare and old-school thinking. Ukraine must keep innovating to win. #StandWithUkraine #Fedorov

@NotThatHughes I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that he has English cleaners and cooks. They're as rare as hen's teeth, especially in London. Maybe in his hot little head he thinks "not Argentinian" = "English"

@Josevizner Not acting now reinforces the conviction that FIFA operate a 2-tier justice: one tier for Argentina, where they are allowed free rein; and one tier for the rest, who face instant penalties for even tiny infringements of FIFA's laws.
