Who needs California and Hawaii waves? Some hearty surfers head to the Great Lakes, from Duluth to Sheboygan. “Sheboygan is the Malibu of the Midwest.” on.wsj.com/3KG6ceo

@madammarsh @CaitlinPacific @RealChrisSays Fun fact: I delivered his newspaper by bicycle, c. 80s Evening Outlook delivery in Pacific Palisades. I have always remembered that job fondly.

@matthewstoller @DoombergT @HesterPeirce Not sure I am following you here. What is the embarrassing part?

Wow, Republican SEC commissioner Hester Peirce calls her own agency ‘lazy and paternalistic’ for cracking down on crypto. @HesterPeirce aka ‘crypto Mom’ is really embarrassing.

@AEleinen @itssobhytime @PSAWorldTour Good thoughts by @AEleinen here. As a fan (and player), it would be great to have a ref give an early let but say “I want you to play that ball” or “your poor shot created the interference,” “You had a line to the ball available,” etc. Video ref has to be on the same page too.

Giving "Lets" in squash matches is OKAY. Referees should set a clear tone, provide guidance & use "Lets" as needed. Improving “Let” management benefits players, spectators & the sport. #Squash #Refereeing #Lets

@ZubyMusic @dwaynebetts and @EconTalker had a really interesting discussion around some of these topics recently. Definitely worth the hour spent with two very perceptive readers. econtalk.org/dwayne-betts-o…

There are already places in the world with 'euthanasia clinics' where they will help you kill yourself... even if you're just depressed.
I will actively fight against this potential future. The 'slippery slope' is not a fallacy. This is where anti-human sentiment leads.

@ZubyMusic Sick and sad? So kill off people feeling sad, kill of the elderly or imperfect? That is grotesque, no matter what society thinks in the future.

@itssobhytime "on realising the ball has hit the tin" is the clue ... you need to ask as soon as there's contact, not after you've seen if it's a winner or not

@shananigans022 @thomaschattwill @Uber The surge pricing is not a punishment. It incentivizes more drivers to stop what they're otherwise doing and go drive, or to drive a distance to go pick someone up in another part of the city. Assume the app also messages "due to a need for more supply."

@ginacarano Completely agree! Check out women's professional squash too!

My hope for every human is that they
find another human who finds a way to

@thomaschattwill Ah, the Efficient Love Market Hypothesis. I am familiar with it. Let's avoid a regulator for this market, however.

@ZubyMusic Nice set - love seeing all the weird KG plates. Reminds me of the gym in London and Dubai. Everyone knows “a plate” is 45 lbs! 😂
