Israel once again bombed Lebanon with banned phosphorus munitions, violating Security Council resolution SCR 1701, ceasefire agreement, and international law with absolutely no consequences. This is another war crime and the International Criminal Court remains silent.

🗺️ New: Qatar open to temporary Hormuz fees for mine-clearing Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said Saturday that Doha and its Gulf partners oppose permanent transit fees on the Strait of Hormuz but are open to temporary charges tied to specific purposes such as mine-clearing operations. 🔹 “Qatar and also the partners in the Gulf stated very clearly that charging fees will always impact the consumer, so we are against this,” Sheikh Saoud said at the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore. 🔹 “But for certain times that they say they will use it for mine-clearing or some usage of the fees for a temporary time, this is something that is negotiable,” he added. 🔹 Qatar has a major stake in the closure — the world’s largest LNG exporter, with LNG accounting for roughly 70% of its export revenues, cannot reroute through pipelines. Unlike crude oil, liquefied natural gas must be supercooled to -162°C and shipped on specialized tankers, making Hormuz effectively the only exit for Qatar’s primary export. 🔹 Qatar, which came under Iranian attack during the war, is urging Gulf Cooperation Council members to adopt a unified strategy toward Tehran covering trade, political, and security relations.

Qatar's Deputy PM Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani told the Shangri-La Dialogue his country would oppose a permanent toll for passage through the Hormuz Strait. He added that Qatar would find a temporary fee negotiable, if it was used to help reopen the waterway.

💢 New Jersey State Police have taken control of the perimeter outside the GEO Group-run Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark, following an executive order by Governor Mikie Sherrill aimed at de-escalating more than a week of volatile clashes between ICE agents and demonstrators protesting conditions inside the facility. The protests were sparked by a hunger strike involving 300-400 detainees who allege inhumane treatment. New Jersey State Police established designated “peaceful assembly zones” using more than 600 yards of barricades to separate protesters from the detention center. Under the agreement, federal ICE agents pulled back from the immediate perimeter. 🎥 Despite the transition, tensions remained high into Friday night. State troopers used tear gas, pepper spray, and mounted units to push back crowds. Drop Site contributors A.B. Youssef (@t_p_i_p) and Jude Finkelberg (@judesies) documented the scenes and spoke with demonstrators outside the facility.

⚡️ Protesters clashed with federal agents outside Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey, on Thursday as demonstrations over inhumane conditions inside the the Geo Group-run facility entered their second week. Demonstrators used homemade barricades, mattresses, and umbrellas to block vehicles entering and leaving the detention center. ICE agents retaliated with pepper spray and physical force to disperse crowds. Several protesters were arrested during confrontations that continued into the evening. The protests followed a labor and hunger strike led by 300-400 detainees, who say they are being held in inhumane conditions, including being served rotten, maggot-infested food and receiving inadequate medical care. Visitors reported overcrowded rooms where people are forced to sleep on the floor, freezing cells with no blankets, scalding hot showers causing burns, and a complete lack of air conditioning or proper ventilation. Several members of Congress including Rep. Jerry Nadler, Rep. Frank Pallone, and Senator Andy Kim conducted in-person inspections of the Newark facility and publicly corroborated the detainees' claims. New Jersey Democrats, including Governor Mikie Sherrill and Senator Andy Kim, have called for the facility to be shut down. 🎥 Videos filmed and shared with Drop Site by @t_p_i_p and Jude Finkelberg.
