I don’t understand why every airline in America — public and private — doesn’t have @Starlink. It’s incredible. You can make FaceTime calls with better reception anywhere in the world 35k feet up in air than most reception on ground. WiFi on planes is infuriatingly bad. Still.

Yes, I need to make sure SpaceX stays focused on making life multiplanetary and extending consciousness to the stars, not pandering to someone’s bullshit quarterly earnings bonus! Obviously, IF SpaceX succeeds in this absurdly difficult goal, it will be worth many orders of magnitude more than the economy of Earth, but don’t expect entirely smooth sailing along the way.

Delta Airlines has responded to Elon Musk's post below with a statement: “The assertion in question is not accurate. Incorporating Delta Sync with Starlink would have been permitted under SpaceX's in-flight Wi-Fi agreement." Delta on why it chose Amazon's LEO: "This agreement gives us the fastest and most cost-effective technology available to better connect the world today, and it deepens our work with a global leader that shares our ambition to build what’s next." The airline is targeting 2028 to start offering Leo in-flight Wi-Fi on about half of its fleet. The rest of the jets will continue to use Viasat and Hughesnet.

Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile said on Thursday they agreed in principle to form a new JV with an aim to address long-time coverage gaps, especially in rural areas, by using satellite-based technologies.
