The augmentation of work through AI is very similar to what happened with the introduction of the ENIAC. Before that, “Computer” was a job title for people who performed calculations; those jobs were then transformed as computing machines took over much of the work. In both outcomes, the systems did not and will not replace us, they enable us to refocus on issues of greater scale and impact, now that we have the tools to do so.
