The market is being pushed and pulled by two prevailing forces atm
Bulls are optomistic on capex and the new frontiers of this AI driven revolution
Bears see the risks stacking up in the middle east and think it metastisizes out of control
The issue here is time horizon
Personally bullish on AI spend and implication for future growth, but as a trader this year I think we are in for some big surprises
I won't be fading the Middle East Energy Issue as a transitory blip

TBF, this didn't age well in the short term, I wasn't expecting equities to rip to new highs like they did. But here we are. Nothing has materially changed on the Hormuz front. I’m still a firm believer that we’ve entered a regime of elevated energy prices for longer. How long this bifurcation between stocks and the real world can continue and whether the market just brushes it off remains to be seen. Personally, I think fading the potential contagion from this war is foolish. Prognosis: Rates stay unchanged, liquidity continues to drain from the market, higher than expected volatility becomes the norm, and elevated energy prices feed into demand destruction. TBD.
