Nepal want to play Test cricket and are increasing their efforts to become full members of the ICC. Officials and players from Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) 🇳🇵 said it is like 'climbing Everest' but hope to make the dream a reality. More here: bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/…

ICC considering some key changes to global game: - Introduction of WTC semi-finals. - 50-over World Cup cut to 12 teams. - 'Super 10 phase' in T20 World Cup. - Developing a 'World Club T20' for domestic franchise sides sooner rather than later. More: bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/…

@TimothyAbraham @dasbiswajit421 WTC final is played in England which hardly is an advantage for subcontinent teams. It gives upperhand to Sena nations. My view is just give the topper of table WTC trophy after the cycle. Why do we need semis in WTC when it's a 2 year cycle.

@dasbiswajit421 Largely agree. Although I don't think WTC semis are necessarily a bad idea, albeit logistically quite tricky.

@TimothyAbraham Out of these four, only agreeing with first and last points. 50 over WC should look to expand instead of shrinking it even more. Super 10 is ok but still the current one - 4 groups of 5 teams followed by QF, SF, F should be the way to go.

Just finished an historic women’s Test match at Lord’s to learn that the @icc has committed to develop a roadmap for the #Afghan Refugee Women’s team to take part in ICC qualifiers by 2030. Two women incl new ICC INED Dr Ros Rivas bolster the task force to do so. Quite the day!

@TimothyAbraham Am I missing something here? Khawaja just lost his seat on the Board. Don't see that that would prevent him presenting a proposal per se, but under the AoA it surely prevents him from continuing as Deputy Chair?

@thesinhajeee MCC have gone on more goodwill/spread-the-gospel-of-cricket tours to remote parts of the globe than anyone else. Pre-war: Burma (1890), Argentina, Peru, Chile, Uruguay (1926-27), Egypt (1929), Denmark (1937), Belgium (1938). Post-war-present: Practically everywhere.

@TimothyAbraham My point is - MCC were the custodians of cricket before ECB/CA. They just tried to spread the cricket among select few. ECB and CA, their successors did the same. The sole reason cricket is not as popular as football despite both being British is the fact that it was in bad hands

@TimothyAbraham Colour me shocked. The organisation which stunted the growth of cricket for 150 years is still not ready to spread it.

@TimothyAbraham @Shawls259 My comment was in response to the comment above about too much cricket being played at Lords being an excuse, not a response to the article. I appreciate that’s not an excuse the ECB have put forward, they have no interest in supporting the competition full stop!
