ACLU Attorney Cecillia Wang argues that any newborn child, regardless of their parents' legal status and allegiance to foreign nations, even adversaries like Iran, should be granted citizenship without regard to said allegiance. Completely damning.

On a further note and an argument I think should have been made but wasn't. Birthright citizenship as its understood right now allows foreign governments to circumvent the natural born citizenship clause for president. As it stands right now anyone can fly in, give birth, raise the kid in their home country, and that person is allowed to run for president. The founders never intended people who lived their entire lives outside the US to be in the situation of becoming president.
Leading Report@LeadingReport

BREAKING: Trump’s attorney John Sauer says the framers of the 14th Amendment clearly required birthright citizens to have allegiance to America, not any foreign power.

@MarcusGustavus What worries me is that this may stem from a heretical understanding of grace and forgiveness that is fundamentally anti-Christ

@MarcusGustavus It’s funny how all these feminized evangelicals intuitively understand this with men. Yeah you’re not marrying your 19 year old daughter off to the 40 year old guy who is a former drug dealer sex addict up until 10 seconds ago.

I don't care if the sandwich has repented of its sin and put its faith in Jesus Christ. If half the town has already taken a bite out of it, I'm not going to pretend it's as fit for a meal as an uneaten one.

@bumbadum14 Someone can make a case both are injustice (which i’m inclined to generally agree) but one is obviously a greater injustice as the founding fathers would likely agree.

@bumbadum14 It’s obviously a greater injustice to strip intelligent young white men from social and political power (which has happened since the 1960s) than to make all 60IQ hood niggas and thugs indentured servants and slaves. To deny this is irrational nonsense.

@StandAndKnox Everybody understands this with men. There’s no way I would allow a former drug dealer and someone who convicted of sexual assault near my daughter if he got saved last week. No obligation to not understand that baggage because he is redeemed. Grace does not destroy nature.

No. You’re not required to ignore the fact that a woman had sex with 50 dudes just because she says she got saved last week. If she’s regenerate, God will forgive her, but I’m not required to marry her because she thinks salvation should mean actions don’t have consequences.
Tom Buck (Five Point Buck)@TomBuck

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.

@kentarchus @JTAlexander_ I attended an evangelical Christian university for my undergrad and when I was in line to vote I was talking to someone who outright said “Dad said Trump lower prices so that’s who I’m voting for”

X is not real life. By even reading this tweet, you are in the Top 3% of political literacy. Nobody remembers Iraq in '98, Panama in '89, Grenada in '83. No one is going to decide their vote on this in November. If it makes them vote Democrat, they were voting Democrat anyway.

@JTAlexander_ Heavily involved political people seem to forget that not only do 50% of people not vote but the majority of people who do get the extent of political knowledge in a couple of reels on TikTok or Instagram. Or even their parents telling them who to vote for.

@Timothy_Inspire For most of the 90s and 00s, there was regular polling that indicated more Americans could name every member of The Simpsons' family than could name the Vice President. This was during Gore and Cheney. Its not like they were obscure VPs.

@JTAlexander_ that moment it hit me i’m likely in the top 1% of political literacy. The other moment was when my History Prof asked everybody who was the current secretary of state was and nobody except me knew. Then asked who it was under Biden (again only me). It was weird.

@JTAlexander_ In Bible College I was excited the day Roe V Wade got overturned. I went to some my friends who were kinda political (they wore Let’s Go Brandan hats and were anti-abortion). They all didn’t know what Roe V Wade was and said cool when it meant states could regulate abortion.

@_taylor_TJ yeah i wouldn’t personally read much scholarship from dispensationalists or the hyper reformed theonomist crowd because my approach to the text of scripture is so different. interesting! I’m currently doing MA in american history and looking at different options for my thesis.

@Timothy_Inspire That still wouldn’t necessarily be in connection with YEC / Theonomy.. i.e, dispensationalism also thrives within fundamentalist presuppositions and that’s the opposite end. Protestant Resistance Theory. I focused on political theology.

@_taylor_TJ probably takes fundamentalist presuppositions to the texts regarding dating and critical analysis that i would disagree with. Out of curiosity what was your MA thesis on?

Many liberals just don’t know the gritty details of what they’re talking about. I was a soft-on-crime guy when I was picturing a starving orphan stealing bread. When I learned that death-row criminals are mostly guilty of things like “raped a 72 year old woman to death” I stopped caring about their rights or feelings.
Wilfred Reilly@wil_da_beast630

I do not think killing, or even torturing, (say) serial killers is horrifying at all. The large majority of people, when asked well-framed honest questions, just reallllly do not care much about this. If the pain of a serial killer affects you at all, you are not only evil, but also weak prey.* *I am learning to write like a lib
