@JeffBarnes52 I know what my kids’ answer was as we talked about it every year. Alternate on a state championship team is where my boy became a man and he knows it!

As an AD, I encourage parents to ask their kids a simple question: would you rather contribute to a winning program in a smaller role, or play every minute while consistently losing by large margins? There’s value in both, but the answer reveals a lot about priorities.

MCW graduate Brandon Williamson pitched 4 shutout innings for the Reds today vs. the Mariners. He allowed 1 hit, 1 walk and struck out 4. Cincinnati leads 2-0.

In the 2026 Class A and Class AA State Tournament (the top 8 teams statewide), there were 4 private schools out of 8 total (50%) and Class AAA 5/8. So 54% of the teams that even made state were Private.

MN HS Basketball people? This wrestling guy wants to know! Do we want 3 classes and a separate private school division or four classes? As could be 3 privates win first three classes today in GBB makes me wonder…

JCC Boys: Football: 4 straight state semifinals and back to back State Championships Wrestling: 6 straight semi final appearances and 9 state Championships Basketball: 2 out 3 years with state Appearances and TBD this year Don’t take it for granted…

I was in Marshall last night & saw Roman Voss play hoops for Jackson County. He’s going to create problem for Fleck. The Peej will have to decide whether to allow the frosh to be a star at safety, outside backer/rusher or a tight end/H-back type. 6-4, 223 w/ great burst.

I guess USA baseball coach for world baseball classic never was a wrestler! The old line bracketing could cost us advancement. I loved it. Every match/game mattered more imo…

Wrestling: we have a reaction time epidemic after many blown calls in the conference tournaments. Reaction time is .1-.25 milliseconds only! We already have problems completing scoring attempts and add reaction time to it. Or is it just a way for the ref to say he was not wrong?

I’m not a Penn State guy…but man Mitchell Mesenbrink is hard not to cheer for! Impressive as he’s trying to live it.. powerful imo #BigTenWrestlingChampionships

No lower level wrestling events should take place the same weekend as the locations state tournament, ncaa qualifier weekend and during the ncaa championships. Give the kids an opportunity to become fans. Encourage them to watch the sport, teach them the history.
