We discussed the energy challenges Asia is facing due to the Middle East war. I thanked the PM for the steps 🇦🇺 is taking to safeguard fuel security including its support for IEA actions.

We’re working with partners around the world to make sure fuel keeps moving to where it's needed most. Conflict overseas is impacting global supply, so we’re taking action to manage the impacts here at home. Today we met with Dr. Fatih Birol of the International Energy Agency to discuss how we are working with trading partners to secure fuel supply. So Australia stays strong and ready for what’s ahead.

Today, Europe’s energy system is cleaner, much more diverse - and much more stable than a few years ago. Yet the developments in the Middle East remind us once again of the risks of relying still too much on fossil fuels. That is why we must continue improving the functioning of our energy market, attracting more investment in clean tech and moving forward with the transition towards clean, homegrown energy. This is crucial for our energy security, affordability and independence and, equally, for our competitiveness.
