@TimvandeMolenMP @RichardMarlesMP In terms of Defence policy and force generation, our ties with Australia are vital, but unless we pull our weight they have no reason bar goodwill to let us into the club. The NZDF is in a state, and you'll need to resolve the people problem before we can participate credibly.

Met with @RichardMarlesMP today in his role as Minister of Defence. Our views on the challenges & opportunities in our region align closely. The NZDF has an important role to play in this.
If I'm NZ's next Minister of Defence, I plan to enhance the NZ/Aus Defence relationship.

@TheConsultant18 @PeeniHenare @nzlabour @TimvandeMolenMP @winstonpeters If we needed further proof…. in our most complex security environment since WW2 we are bringing in a Maori tourism specialist and the CE of Customs… amongst others… this review will be zero function and BS corporate government form as a priority. stuff.co.nz/national/polit…

@TheConsultant18 If it's such a critical piece of equipment that they can't sail without it, then they should carry a spare on board, or have a temporary backup option.
