@DGHisham Hasil kajian yg diberi oleh Public Health England (14 Jun 2021) menunjukkan AZ mampu mencegah kes-kes serius/hospitalization yg disebabkan oleh Delta variant sebyk 92% (gov.uk/government/new…). Terima kasih.

@DGHisham satu lagi ialah vaccine efficacy ni samada 60% atau 88%, kedua2 mampu mencegah/kurangkan kes serius dan angka kematian - bila Delta tersebar luas. Itu yg penting, ataupun lebih penting bebanding dgn mencegah dari semata-mata mendapat infeksi.

One dose of Pfizer or Astra Zeneca vaccine only provides around 33 per cent protection against symptoms from Delta variant, two doses provide between 88 per cent (Pfizer) and 60 per cent (AstraZeneca) protection against symptoms.

@DGHisham apa yg benar: 50-60% efficacy vaksin mmg cukup baik utk (akhirnya) capai herd immunity. yg 60% cukup utk tujuan ni, sekiranya berdepan dgn Delta varian.... dari segi angka, mmg Pfizer nampaknya lebih tinggi, tapi tidak bermaksud ia lebih baik drpd AZ utk tujuan "herd immunity".

@DGHisham malangnya kebanyakan org akan menganggap 88% lebih baik dari 60% disebabkan tweet ini, terutama bila semua pihak tengah bertungkus rumus kerja kuat untuk capai herd immunity, dan seterusnya menyebabkan lebih ramai orang kurang yakin dgn AZ.
