Overstaying your allotted time without a visa is a problem, and mostly done by people not from the countries we’re targeting. But you can LEGALLY travel to the United States as a tourist. Just like we can LEGALLY travel to other countries, too. It’s why they ask you on the immigration form where you’re staying, how long you’ll be here and get all of your information. Unless you’re proposing that no tourist from outside the United States should be able to travel here?

My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.
