My urgent message to Mr @narendramodi ji. Why are you still silent on today's killing of innocent 2 babies while sleeping with her mother in midnight with rockets by Kuki militants? Manipur is not a part of India? Manipur deserves justice now. No Justice, No Rest. 😢🙏

Keralites are one of the most politically alert communities. The brave youth is holding his ground despite being threatened by the BJP Palakadu candidate @SobhaBJP Surendran. Caught on video. Threatening to destroy the evidence. So many rules did she break to get disqualified?

DEAR KERALA! PLEASE LISTEN AND DECIDE! ‘Even if you marry a 6ft tall guy with a six pack he cannot make you birth a child in 3 months!!!’ This was Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s great speech at a public event in Pipri village in Adilabad district yesterday. Revanth Reddy was trying to convince people that the Six Guarantees promised by Telangana Congress in 2023 will take time. During the elections they promised to fulfill guarantees in 100 DAYS. Today he is talking about how delays are part of the process. Except for free bus that too with limited access, nothing else has been fulfilled by the Congress in Telangana. In fact, many very important preexisting welfare schemes like Raithubandhu, student scholarships, senior citizen pensions are suffering. Today, CM Revanth Reddy will be in Kerala campaigning about Congress’s FIVE Guarantees 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I hope Kerala doesn’t fall prey to false promises, like Telangana did.

193 elected MPs. Constitutional threshold crossed. Seven charges documented. First ever impeachment motion against a sitting CEC in India’s 75 year history. Both presiding officers, both BJP-aligned, refused even an inquiry into the CEC accused of electoral bias. No hearing. No committee. Just a rejection letter. This isn’t procedure. It’s protection.

I have not seen a single mainstream media outlet give this the attention it deserves. Israel blew up an entire Lebanese town, an ancient place. It should be headline news. There’s footage of it happening. Imagine this was your town, and you saw every building blown up by a terrorist army to prevent you from ever returning. You would at the very least expect wall to wall coverage. Instead it passes without a word. It’s not the only town Israel has blown up. And sadly it probably won’t be the last.

Pls Retweet- Samserganj, Murshidabad. I invite the Election Commission of India to come meet its victims and see, on the ground, what this so called “voter purification” exercise is doing to the poorest citizens of this country who also happen to be Muslims. I have covered wars, communal violence, and mass movements. I have never seen anything like this before.

YouTube is making it almost impossible to report on the SIR bloodbath in Bengal. Several of my ground reports from villages have been taken down, citing vague “privacy/community guidelines” violations, while others have had their reach severely restricted. At a time when independent reporting is crucial, this is clear suppression. Is @YouTubeIndia effectively playing into the hands of the Indian govt?

Update: we finished the meeting with @SecretaryMEITY wherein they just treated this meeting today treating as a compliance exercise with no intent to explain or answer questions we have raised. I told Mr. Krishnan that the governments intent behind the IT Rules consultation is evident in the impact they are having - of mass censorship. This is an infrastructure for mass censorship. I raised the following issues, which were not addressed by Mr. Krishnan: 1. No transparency or accountability in takedown/blocking actions. Ministry not responsive to RTI requests. The current rules also do not have provisions for transparency. 2. MEITY needs to explain why around 31 instances of blocking and takedowns that I have emailed them about, and about 70 odd questions that I have sent them need to be addressed. Link in the next tweet.👇 3. The changes to the IT Rules mirror the withdrawn Broadcast Bill, with same intent, different form 4. Inter Departmental Committee mirrors the Fact Check unit, reviving what the Bombay High Court struck down. 5. Pre-legislative consultation policy mandates 30 days. This consultation was only 15 days 6. Previous rules had a 10-day implementation timeline, which is insufficient for implementation 7. All takedown orders are now like emergency orders, with 3 hour takedowns. There is no application of mind on whether content is actually illegal or harmful. Everything is taken down as emergency. 8. No accountability mechanism for citizens whose accounts or posts are removed 9. Regulatory changes are outpacing judicial review. 10. This is part of a cumulative censorship framework built since the 2021 IT Rules 11. The current Rules need to be withdrawn, and the infrastructure for censorship needs to be dismantled. 12. There should be no surprise additions to these rules -- in the last consultation, they added a whole new takedown provision which had not been consulted upon. I also pointed out that my comments at this meeting, and my emails should be available under RTI, because there needs to be transparency, even if the Ministry is avoiding this.

Shocking video from Morbi, Gujarat: A young underage boy is sitting like a "Cigarette Wale Baba", openly smoking cigarettes in public while a crowd watches and throws money at him. This is not spirituality — this is child exploitation happening in broad daylight. #Morbi #CigaretteWaleBaba #ChildRights #GujaratPoliceAct

The latest EPFO reply, read alongside the two earlier answers, completely dismantles the Government’s carefully constructed narrative used to justify meagre pensions under EPS. “EPFO’s own employees draw an average pension of Rs. 37,045 per month”. But the workers who sustained the system tell a different story: * 35.9% (29,25,898 out of 81,48,490) survive on Rs. 1,000 or less per month - more than one in every three pensioners * Over 60% (49.15 lakh) receive below Rs. 1,500 * 96.58% receive below Rs. 4,000 Meanwhile, the financial position of the scheme itself reveals no such scarcity: • EPS corpus stands at Rs. 9.93 lakh crore as on 31.03.2025 • Interest income alone was Rs. 58,668.73 crore in 2023-24 * Other income added Rs. 863.62 crore - taking total extra income from the corpus fund to “59,532.35 crore” Against this, the total pension paid to retired workers in 2023-24 was only “Rs. 14,990.45 crore” - barely about one-fourth of the annual income generated from the corpus, without even touching the corpus itself. At the same time, EPFO’s own establishment and administrative expenditure in 2023-24 stood at Rs. 5,942.51 crore - nearly 40% of the total pension paid to elderly workers. “In effect, for every Rs. 2.5 paid as pension, Rs. 1 is spent on administration.” The contrast is indefensible: Those who administer the scheme receive dignified pensions averaging Rs. 37,045 per month, while the workers who contributed to it struggle to survive, with the overwhelming majority receiving less than Rs. 1,500 per month. Social security cannot become a system where administrators receive Rs. 37,000 and workers are asked to live on Rs. 1,000- Rs. 1,500. #rajyasabha #epfo #pension
