Friends, yesterday, I had the opportunity to offer a prayer at an Easter lunch hosted by the White House. What follows is the text of that invocaton: Heavenly Father, almighty and eternal God, provident Lord of history, we come before you today in an attitude of humble gratitude. We are thankful, Lord, for this opportunity to be together in fellowship, for the faith that unites us, and for the blessings of liberty that we enjoy as Americans. But we are grateful, above all, on this holiest week of the year, for the gift of your Son Jesus Christ, who is God from God, light from light, true God from true God; who is the Yes to all the promises made to Israel; who is the Lamb standing as though slain; who is the Alpha and the Omega; who is the Lion of Judah; who is the desire of the everlasting hills; and who is the Word made flesh. I understand. I am sorry if I sounded harsh but I am frustrated too. Our doc back then even did house calls. Can you imagine? I realize that many hospitals will go after a doctor's license who doesn't "comply" and you have mortgages and maybe even still paying off school loans. I use to love medicine and even worked in healthcare about 10 years total and there was a 20 year lapse before I went back to a hospital and boy oh boy did I see the changes. The handwringing when I refused the flu shot was my first huge clue I needed out of this field real fast. Best of luck to you. I know you care and are caught in a corrupt system right now.

It’s AMAZING that you got to have that experience with your doctor. Than you for sharing that. I’m a family doc and what you describe is honestly my dream time to have practiced in many ways. There are so many aspects of that time I would like to come back. Criticism is all that’s left for me because he doesn’t have the right people giving him strategic guidance in my humble opinion. There is a list of 50 things I can think of off the top of my head he should focus on that would have WAY bigger impact. And this is someone who worked at safety net/poor communities for over a decade. I’ve seen the worst of the worst. This is actually fixable. Hence my frustration!!

I’m actually super sick of doctors being scapegoated for outcomes we have minimal control over. This is like blaming the ER doctor for the car crash. Stop! While I agree with his main assertion that food is central to healing and should be improved, he is attributing a level of agency to physicians that actually belongs to health system administrators, insurers and politicians. They are the ones who have created the dystopian hellscape that is both the American and hospital-based food system. Doctors are constantly stuck managing the downstream consequences of the upstream failures of our corporate overlords. We hate it as much as patients.

@TaylorRMarshall One reason I converted Catholic was because of this kind of hate I saw in many Protestants. Sad now to see it in Catholics as well.

Two things: First, there are countless MDs on this platform actively denying that those foods are even bad for patients, insisting that no changes need to be made, so thank you for being sensible about it, but there are many who aren’t. Second, I don’t hear RFK blaming MDs for the problem. In fact I hear him praising doctors. So what’s your objection?

@DrBrittaniJ Forced vaccination. Abortion. Transgender mutilation. Statins. SSRIs. Need I go on? As a physician, I can say with honesty I have never seen a more disgusting, depraved group of people worthy of total contempt than "doctors."

You can't help but wonder who is the stupidest here. The doctors who worship vaccines or the parents dumb enough to believe them. Thats where we are folks with medicine. It IS worshipped.
