Rather than call time on boys being part of a girls’ organisation - which was never supposed to happen - Guardian columnist Zoe Williams suggests the 'obvious solution' was a name change. 🙄 Quite apart from her dreadful “gender-neutral” name suggestions - KidGuiding or RangersRainbow - this isn’t how charities work. Girlguiding isn’t just a brand. It’s a charity with a defined purpose: for girls. You can’t simply rename it and carry on as before. Changing that purpose would require formal processes, consultation, and potentially regulatory approval. In other words - not a quick fix. Not a rebrand.
