At the listing of @EconetInfraCo today on @VFEX_ZW, chairman Godfrey Gomwe announces plans to build a residential complex in Vic Falls. This will be one of several real estate projects to targeted for the portfolio, including an industrial park near RGM International Airport.

Today we celebrate 25 years of Nyaradzo Group, and moments like these remind me how small the world can be, and how relationships built early in our careers often shape the future in ways we never expect. What many people may not know is that I have known Philip Mataranyika since the days when we both worked at Old Mutual. In those years, we were young professionals learning the ropes, building networks, and sharing ideas about business, finance, and the opportunities we believed were possible for Zimbabweans. Over the years, I have watched Philip grow from a hardworking financial advisor into the founder of what is today one of the most respected institutions in the country. We have exchanged advice, encouraged each other’s journeys, and supported one another through different seasons of business and leadership.When I launched my book, it felt only right that Philip share his comments, because he is someone who truly understands what it means to start with an idea, face impossible odds, and still keep moving forward.Perhaps more importantly, Philip was our Keynote Speaker at our 25th anniversary celebrations. His presence was especially meaningful because our journeys of starting and growing businesses in a fluid and often unpredictable economy are very similar. We both understand what it means to build through uncertainty, to adapt constantly, and to keep believing even when the environment is not always favourable. His story of founding Nyaradzo is one of courage, persistence, and vision. From his days advising clients on financial planning, to recognising the gap in funeral assurance, to taking the bold step of registering a company in 1998 despite enormous regulatory and financial hurdles, it is a reminder that great institutions are built on belief long before they are built on capital.
