I’m just gonna start a thread of the highlights from what my favorite officer messages me on shift.

While responding to a call for a student with a possible weapon at a school the assistant principal of the school asked one of my officers to put his rifle away because they felt it was excessive -_- all this before they had confirmed there was no weapon. Wack

We do a pre telecomm week survey to be able to get everyone’s favorite snacks, treats, drinks, etc for the week. Part of survey is voting for Dispatcher of the year for the department. This year 3 of our 18 people voted for themselves 😑

Got yelled at by a guy who was mad that street sweepers were cleaning roads in the middle of the day. He then told me that it was obviously stolen or something else suspicious because why else would they be out during normal business hours instead of cleaning at night.

We had a lady pull the trailer hitch pin from her camper and throw it at the officers before taking off on a Scooby Doo ass pursuit dumping the camper in the middle of the road before coming right back to where it started where she tried to curse the officers and make them vanish

And other issues across the city I work for it’s been a year. I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am just hoping so badly I can pull out of this burn out spiral / negative headspace and get back to normal.

Them being too delusional to accept responsibility for their actions and blaming me for everything (long time attitude/anger issues and harassing another employee and her husband when they called out for a stupid reason) plus add on some major departmental changes …

It’s been rough lately. From almost a year of a nightmare employee who HR refused to let me terminate (including a full restart of a 90 day PIP) (who is finally gone now) to having to fire someone who I considered my friend for going completely off the rails and then…

“Can I press charges for someone who tried to kill me but failed because I avoided it” - the caller being a little bitch about a reckless driver

Older lady calling in for a man riding a bike around a parking lot “he’s trying to find people to rob” “if he comes down this aisle I’m going to throw my cane and hurt him” “I may be an old ass lady but I’m can fight” Turns out he was just killing time before starting work

@beantown_cop Just accept your fate and save the energy fighting it 😂 Anything can be justified as a need if you try hard enough.

Today’s County radio traffic of the day “he’s normally very gentle but they said he is upset he can’t get drugs so be warned”

At least it’s better than my coworker just saying “conditions of bong” instead of conditions of bond on the radio

Today’s misspelling - I wrote “toll toad” instead of toll road and have been bullied all day since. Officers keying up “show me out on traffic on the toll toad”

Had a caller call in his girlfriend freaking out and being a “psycho ass bitch” he followed it up with “bring the straight jacket cause yous gonna need it”

Asked a called if they were pinned in their vehicle in a collision. She said “yeaaaah I am pinned. Not cause I’m injured just because I’m fat” 😂😂

I just had an older guy call in because his wife was on the phone with a scammer. As I was talking to him his wife was absolutely berating this scammer and calling him on all the bullshit. I’ve never heard someone tear into someone else like that. Highlight of my day.

People out here be brutal. In the middle of a argument one caller yelled at the other dude there “your mother died lonely bitch” I feel like there’s a story there

Just heard a Deputy on counties radio go “negative, she doesn’t want a Mexican cop”

A trainee just said on the phone with a voice totally full of confusion “uhhhhh bird killing?!?? Ohhhh barbecuing”

“Sir, is you wife awake?!?” “Uhhhhh no she’s Hispanic”
