On top of that, the cost of living, education, and healthcare has become unaffordable for middle-class and educated families. That is exactly why many families are consciously choosing to have only one child. It is not because they don’t want children, but because raising multiple children has become financially burdensome in the current situation. Without addressing key problems like: - Free and quality education for all children - Affordable or free healthcare - Employment opportunities - Better wages and economic stability …how will a “cash for babies” scheme actually solve anything? Giving ₹30,000 or ₹40,000 may work well for publicity and headlines, but raising a child requires long-term financial security, not temporary incentives. Publicity is easy.
