Ignorance, the root and stem of all evil
‼️Jeffrey Sachs: The West Has Repeatedly Invaded Russia. ⚡️The US and Germany had said to Gorbachev and to Yeltsin, we won't expand NATO one inch eastward. ⚡️Like always with the United States, they lied, they cheated, and they started the expansion. ⚡️I know about in detail, which is get NATO all the way to surround Russia, because that was the plan of Zbigniew Brzezinski and Dick Cheney and others going right back to the 1990s. 📑Russia, throughout its history, has always believed in keeping some safety from the west, which has repeatedly invaded Russia. And after the end of the Soviet Union in 1991, the US and Germany had said to Gorbachev and to Yeltsin, we won't expand NATO one inch eastward. But then, like always with the United States, they lied, they cheated, and they started the expansion. And then the Russians. I was observing this all along. The first expansions, which were in central Europe, didn't come too close to Russia. And they said, ugh, we don't like that. You cheated. You told us no, but okay, that's Hungary. Poland and Czech Republic. That was 1999 under Clinton. But then it just kept coming and kept coming and kept coming. And they said, with rising decibels and rising fervour, stop coming closer. And their ultimate red line has been consistent. It is Ukraine and Georgia. Why? Well, it goes back Piers to the British Empire, to 1853, to 1856, actually to Lord Palmerston. He had an idea, surround Russia in the Black Sea. Render Russia's fleet in the Black Sea in Sevastopol, which was there in 1853, just like it's there in 2024, render it essentially inoperable. Control the Dardanelles. This is a long story. And then Russia is a second or third rate power. And President Putin is responding to what has been a british imperial attempt for 175 years and a us attempt since 1991, basically to surround Russia with NATO. And what Putin has been saying is, dont do that. Stop, leave Ukraine as a kind of buffer zone. And Ukraine was perfectly happy with that, and public opinion was perfectly happy with that, and they didnt want to join NATO. And in 2009, they elected Viktor Yanukovych, who promised them neutrality, which was the promise that Ukraine itself had made in declaring its independence, that they would be permanently a neutral country because they're in between west and east, they're in between Europe and western Europe or the European Union and Russia. So they wanted just, okay, we'll be neutral. But then the United States did team up to overthrow Yanukovych in February 2014. And that's when this war started. That's when Russia stopped saying, well, we'll lease a base in Crimea. Rather, we'll take back Crimea. We don't want it to fall into NATO hands, just like the Tsar did not want Sevastopol to fall into Palmerston's hands. So this is basically a long, long story. I think the rest is negotiable. I basically think either the US and Europe dont understand what theyre doing, which is not impossible, or theyre still on what has been a 30 year neocon agenda, which I know about in detail, which is get NATO all the way to surround Russia, because that was the plan of Zbigniew Brzezinski and Dick Cheney and others going right back to the 1990s. They still want to do it and they think they can still accomplish this.

China's on a mission to make deserts disappear from its map! So far, we've turned a whopping 65 million mu of desert into green land. That's about the size of Denmark! It's like China's playing a real-life 'desert-to-green' transformation game.

JEFFERY SACHS: WE ARE WHAT'S WRONG WITH AFRICA What is wrong with the DRC? In this clip (from the UN Food Systems Pre-Summit in 2021), US economist Jeffery Sachs breaks it down, challenging Western nations to look in the mirror. In a powerful rebuttal of the popular framing of narratives around the economic and political struggles of Africa, Sachs calls for accountability from the West. He notes that the crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo today is directly tied to centuries of Western imperialism, exploitation and political interference. The public policy analyst gives a historical account of the DRC’s decades-long exploitation to illustrate Western dishonesty. He points to Belgium's brutal occupation of the Congo, which killed more than 10-million people, and the Belgian/British/US-led assassination of the Central African nation’s first democratically elected leader, Patrice Lumumba (1925-61). Sachs further notes how neo-colonialism operates today in the DRC, where Western companies unethically extract resources while the population remains impoverished and is denied its fundamental rights, recognised under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948. Imperialist powers may have stopped enslaving and colonising Africans, but they still plunder the continent’s resources, assassinate its incorruptible leaders and fuel wars that stiffle growth.  Today’s renewed cycle of war in the Congo is yet another chapter in the long history of neo-colonialism and imperialism. Questions of internal governance miss the point. The real question should be: what is wrong with the West?

People are rightly ridiculing OpenAI over its accusations of Deepseek using their output to train their model, but most people are missing the truly terrifying implications here. The far more worrying aspect here is that OpenAI is suggesting that there are some cases in which they own the output of their model. Now think for a minute what this means in the world of tomorrow where so much will be generated by AI (and already is): all the software code, the emails we send each others, the videos and images, etc. Do you want to live in a future where, if for some reason the AI giants are dissatisfied with the way you use the output of their model, they can claim ownership of it? A future where every piece of content touched by AI - which might be virtually everything in the world of tomorrow - comes with invisible strings attached? The implications for innovation and creativity are staggering. Small businesses and independent developers who rely on AI tools could find themselves trapped in a web of intellectual property claims. Worse, we're looking at a future where the very act of learning and building upon existing knowledge becomes gated by the interests of AI giants. This would be techno-feudalism on steroids: if we don't challenge this now, we risk sleepwalking into a future where human creativity and innovation become the property of a bunch of AI overlords, and a world where they can dictate not only who gets to innovate, but what kind of progress is acceptable based on their own interests.

Listen to this. Jeffrey Sachs saying COVID-19 was caused by a virus that, from the very beginning, had telltale signs that it was made in a lab. It may have been tested in a Chinese laboratory but it was made in a US laboratory. The CIA said it was probably out of a lab—made by US scientists-and may have been sent to China for testing.
