I have always avoided talking about politics on this account. But this is my breaking point. I can't say nothing while ICE is going around executing people in broad daylight in my city, blocks from where I live.
They murdered a second person this morning. And I don't want to hear for a second that "he had a gun." Republicans' entire thing is about being pro-2A, that people have the right to be armed against a tyrannical government. Now a textbook example of government tyranny unfolds before you and your immediate response is to take their side? It makes no sense.
There were at least 7 federal agents on top of that man. IF he was armed, the video appears to show that he was disarmed before the shots were fired. There is absolutely zero justification for his killing. This is yet another example of these ICE agents being untrained, hate-filled escalators who are seeking out this kind of violence. They aren't making our community safer, they're making it 1000 times more dangerous.
Everyone can agree that violent criminals, of all backgrounds, should be prosecuted and jailed. A conversation can be had about immigration policy. But this isn't working. This has to stop. ICE has to get out of Minneapolis.

Oof. Devastating details on parents attempting to find out if it was their son who was killed.
"I can't get any information from anybody," Michael Pretti said Saturday. "The police, they said call Border Patrol, Border Patrol's closed, the hospitals won't answer any questions?"
Eventually, the family called the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, who they said confirmed had a body matching the name and description of their son.

They’re openly using state violence as a bargaining chip to seize election infrastructure.

At 9:05 AM CT, as DHS law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault, an individual approached US Border Patrol officers with a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, seen here. The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. More details on the armed struggle are forthcoming. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots. Medics on scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject but was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect also had 2 magazines and no ID—this looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement. About 200 rioters arrived at the scene and began to obstruct and assault law enforcement on the scene, crowd control measures were deployed for the safety of the public and law enforcement. This situation is evolving, and more information is forthcoming.

Investors and market commentators are reading too much into short-term market movements in rates, currencies and equities.
I believe that it is much more likely that recent sharp moves in these asset classes is due to highly leveraged market participants being forced out of positions than due to fundamentals.
In other words, technical factors are driving the dramatic market moves. As a result, markets have become increasingly unreliable as short-term indicators of the impact of policy changes.
I don’t understand how it is good for the world to allow investors in equities to operate with 10-1 leverage and investors in Treasurys and currencies to operate with 100-1 leverage.
When did we decide as a society to abandon the margin rules that were put in place to protect markets from this kind of volatility?

I have a lot of thoughts about that #Gophers performance and postgame pressers, but ultimately it seemed like the first time they’ve truly “checked out” this season.
The North Texas, Ohio State and Washington losses were close, but Minnesota got absolutely dominated at home and Ben Johnson chalked it up to Illinois being the better team.
While Illinois might be one of the most talented teams in the country, they had lost 4 of their last 7 and they came into tonight banged up.
The game plan seemed all over the place and I expected a much better effort in general.
That was overall the type of game that I left with way more questions than answers, which is a tough thought in year four in February with one of the oldest teams in the country.
