Why is it that in many public offices, the probability of a male staff helping you nicely is usually higher than that of a female staff? I went to one office recently to process a document and intentionally didn’t call my plug because I wanted to see if I could navigate the system normally. I moved from one office to another and the male staff I met were actually calm and helpful. Then I got to the final office I needed. Before I even explained myself properly, the woman there told me she had closed and I should come back another day I pleaded because I had already done every other thing needed that day but she didn’t even listen. Eventually, I called the person I knew there. The man simply came, collected my documents, stepped inside, stamped everything within seconds and handed them back to me. Why are some women in public offices strangely harder on fellow women?
