@Atticist Isn't that the whole point of the whole Parmenides vs. Heraclitus debate? Being vs. Becoming? Static vs. Change? You can never step into the same river twice because the ever-changing river is in a constant state of Becoming, and never Is.

Trying to make sense of this line, “Being moved, as is implicit in the whole argument, is a specified kind of ‘coming into being’ or change.” This seems to take coming into being and change as synonyms.

Where does Plato say that all change is a form of genesis/coming into being, if indeed he says this?

@Joey_K_Pollock Always keep in mind who the writer is responding to. If you want to read Plato, learn about Parmenides, Heraclitus, and Pythagoras first. If you want to read Kant, read Hume first. Always supplement with secondary sources and background historical info.
