We found a couple Magic cards at Collect-a-con, this was the best one!

@RoundCorners40 @BcdLegacy Yes - sanctioning is the entire reason the event in that for exists / it is *the event*. The ~$200,000 in prizes for the event WOTC provides are directly tied to everything that happens in the hall. It’s not just a side event problem.

@BcdLegacy Does sanctioning even mean anything anymore without DCI?

Update on CE/IE and gold border cards for Old School and premodern. TLDR it’s WOTC’s call and Pastimes is talking to them about it. Pastimes also doesn’t know how or why Card Titan was exempt from WOTC requirement on this in prior years. More to come.

At Collect-a-con Cleveland this weekend (Magic only booth.) Plenty of people, not only Pokemon collectors here!

@TeamGirudo Highest sale was $650,000, I agree it should be more.

I’m more excited about Magic as a game system / collection of pieces than I have in a long time. Actively making changes because of that.

@JoeyPascoMTG Always a good time to buy more cards! (I think premodern is overheated and we will see more come to market, especially from old guard dealers. Cards that haven’t moved in a couple years are looking up now.

@ToaMichael For someone who really just likes old cards, and mostly intends to actually play with them, would you say now is a good time to buy more cards, or a bad time?

@Kadilac87 Unlikely - I have shows basically the next 10 weeks so the labor is a little too much to put it together :/

I'm going to put an infographic out with some data from Magic Con Las Vegas. Looking for what info people would like to hear about. (I can't share everything)

@Paulfwood1 @sunrise_flare @PSAcard Also lots of these cards get played with - we traded a BGS 10 into a BGS 9.5, and then opened it for the customer for a $60,000 /100 card… and it wasn’t the first one I opened for someone.

@Paulfwood1 @sunrise_flare @PSAcard This is a Magic card - most serials are /500 - a small amount of /100 .

We had a customer bring these @PSAcard graded cards to the booth - neither of these are legitimate Wizards of the Coast Magic cards. If legitimate, we would have valued them at $10,000 each.

@GabrielKomatu Copy was exceptionally clean, so it’s a lot of money but the data justifies it. I am more conflicted than most people would be. The smaller cards will trade out very well though.

@ToaMichael $800 in a wooded foothills seems very very very wrong Do you feel like liquidity is improved after the trade?

As I’m heading home from Magic Con Las Vegas, here’s a quick snapshot of the Magic World. We traded out a Black Lotus for the cards on the right - mostly cards from the past 3 years!

@wildstwawberry TCGplayer guidelines - any curl less than 5mm is allowed in any grade.

Has anyone else had experience with store marking curled foils as LP or lower? I sold a pack fresh foil promo to a store and they’re giving me half of the value for it because they said they can’t sell it as NM. To me this is not what NM means.
