@ToastFPS Yes, because the point is that if they have the means to do it to cheaters, they could potentially do it to everyone for any reason. You also dont want rapists to be shot without due process, because they could just accuse you of rape and shoot you without due process as well.

@USNewsReport @Cernovich Courts have repeatedly held that ALPR cameras do not infringe a reasonable expectation of privacy and do not constitute a search under the Fourth Amendment. It's less of a legal/constitutional issue and more of a misinformation issue.

Last year, the city of Austin turned off their Flock cameras as the result of a targeted misinformation campaign. This weekend, for nearly 24 hours, three suspects drove around Austin in stolen vehicles, undetected, conducting a shooting spree at 12 separate locations. They shot multiple people, houses, apartment buildings, businesses, and fire stations. They committed multiple robberies and car thefts during the spree. Despite a full manhunt involving 200 officers, with helicopter and K9 support, they weren't able to locate the suspects, and the spree continued. Luckily, the suspects drove into the Flock-supported city of Manor, TX. Manor is a small city with ~20k residents, and a fraction of Austin's budget. What they do have is modern technology and the ability not to fall victim to misinformation campaigns. After the suspects drove into Manor to continue their shooting spree, Manor PD located them almost immediately. The residents of Manor stayed safe. This is a tale of two cities. I love Austin. I have plenty of friends who live there. I myself almost moved there years ago. I'm glad that the shooting spree is over, but I just wish it never happened.

@DolioJ They closed down the entire area.. so.. you couldnt leave. Completely shut down roads and went vehicle to vehicle looking for 3 dudes responsible for shooting up two fire stations and 10 other locations

Luck meets preparedness. I hate that I spent the time I did streaming to 5 people and putting off family and friends “because I have to stream”. I spent time building a skill, but goddamn people are out here wasting years of their lives because they think time spent live is going to directly equate to success.

Not sure if it’s because I’m in an extra touristy area rn or just society is declining rapidly but the vast majority of people are so unaware of anyone around them. Nobody looks at you or out for you they just look through you. Like we’re all just cameos in their show or movie.

A note on our work to combat viewbotting, from CEO Dan Clancy: There’s been a lot of discussion recently about viewbotting on Twitch, and I wanted to share an update on our enforcement efforts. Viewbotting is bad for our business. We don't benefit from it, and we believe it harms the creator ecosystem overall. However, effectively combatting viewbotting is challenging. As we deploy updates to our real-time detection algorithms, viewbotting companies quickly respond with updates to avoid detection. Also, our detection systems must be precise to ensure that legitimate viewers are appropriately counted. Today, we’re introducing a new enforcement type that we plan to roll out over the next few weeks. For channels identified as persistently viewbotting, we will apply a cap to the streamer’s CCV for a fixed period of time, on all of the Twitch surfaces. The cap will be based upon historical data regarding that creator’s non-viewbotted traffic. Repeated violations will result in longer penalties. Streamers will be notified when an enforcement is applied, along with the duration of the penalty, and can appeal through the appeals portal. While streamers will be notified, we will not make a follow-on announcement when we begin issuing these enforcements, and will not publicly share details about when and where these enforcements are applied. Unfortunately, providing details simply makes it easier for companies to work around our interventions. We believe this approach will help us make meaningful progress against viewbotting. We will continue refining our systems and expand when we apply these enforcements over time. - Dan Clancy
