Dunno how to feel about this. It means ads now on every account (non-aff was ad free), money all goes to Twitch/Amazon because non-aff can't payout. Not to mention countless (and outnumbering) affiliated who work hard for their entry, what do they get?

Every Star Wars movie back to back is 25 hours.
The LOTR extended cuts are 11 hours total. Throw in The Hobbit to get to the 20 hour mark.
10 average James Bond films will get you to 20 hours. That’s just under half the entire catalog.
Open world games really did a number on the perception of expected play time with games.

Coming from a nobody like me who's wholeheartedly tried, making a game is a massive undertaking . A great game, even more so. Getting anyone to play it, much more an achievement. It sucks that this is the way it turns out for almost all developers, you just don't hear about it.

Shorts in my experience have had zero conversions and I'm not a vtuber. It's still better than doing nothing, but at the same time, don't put a massive amount of effort into it, it works for VERY few people

This is terrible advice. Short form content is currently one of the most efficient ways to promote yourself/your streams on multiple platforms. Forgoing shorts as a content creator is tantamount to shooting yourself in the foot.

Happened to me 2 years back. Got me thru some tough times but no way close to keep me afloat. Burned through my savings so fast even with budgeting.
My tip for this, don't ramp up your streams, try to get a part time casual job. One where you can say no to shifts when you need.

Man, #Linux is proving to be a big no no for the normal PC users wanting to switch from windows. So far, Ive only had minimal issues with gaming but productivity apps I need? There's always some inconsistent problem. Not only Davinci being neutered but OBS too!
