@m00nly2 @usmntonly 1994 World Cup in the USA had the highest attendance of any World Cup, both in overall attendance and average per match. Average Americans love big events, and as ticket and hotel prices drop you’ll see an increase in tickets purchased and booked rooms.

@usmntonly An event in an expensive country will never “sell out” to the global audience, cause the prices are way too high. Unfortunately, it won’t sell out to the American audience either, cause average American doesn’t care enough. FIFA will find this out the hard way, when it’s too late

WILD. Hotels across multiple 2026 FIFA World Cup host cities are reportedly seeing major room cancellations from FIFA itself. According to the AHLA, up to 70% of FIFA-reserved hotel rooms in Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Seattle have been released back into the market. The hotel industry says FIFA’s early block bookings created “artificial demand” that inflated prices and distorted expectations ahead of the tournament. Now, with just weeks until kickoff, some hotels fear the expected World Cup tourism boom may fall short.

There's this Japanese food with almost zero calories, made from the konjac root. Called konnyaku, it's a traditional favorite for adding volume and texture to dishes without the extra calories.

@nocontextmemes What is it with Japanese and Chinese that makes them fully incapable of not adding an -a or -du to the end of an English word

Kelly says the stadium will be surrounded by an entertainment district. Also announces the Chiefs will build a new headquarters and practice facility in Olathe. So — the Chiefs ENTIRE OPERATION is moving across state lines. Monumental day in KC sports history. @KCTV5

@superkeeper33 @ManagerTactical Put all 6 in a sprint, a strength competition, or jumping, or whatever, and the Barcelona players are going to finish behind the American guys. Put them on the pitch and they’ll run circles around the Americans. If you want better American players, the culture needs changing.

@ToddHallier @ManagerTactical Quite a selection there. Definitely not bias. You’re also right, Xavi and Iniesta were absolutely horrible athletes. (They were amazing athletes, some of the best)

This is high school soccer in Japan 🇯🇵… In the US 🇺🇸 we struggle to develop technical players and it has nothing to do with our “best athletes” playing other sports. It’s culture and understanding technical development at early ages.

@superkeeper33 @ManagerTactical So you’d say Iniesta, Busquests, Xavi are better athletes than guys like Robinson, Altidore, or Pulisic? Because they are all bigger, stronger, faster, can jump higher than any of those Barcelona guys, who in no way were elite athletes in the American sense (fast, strong, jump).

@superkeeper33 @ManagerTactical The best Barcelona teams were a bunch of short little midgets playing keep away, many of whom weren’t the fastest, strongest or most athletic. LeBron James probably wouldn’t be a great soccer player, along with a lot of other NBA, NFL athletes.

@ManagerTactical Again, it does have something to do with the fact that our best athletes are nowhere near a footy field. World wants black and white. It isn’t.

@SJF_LFC @ManagerTactical It’s not free in Japan (not sure why you bring up China, and whatever model they use in China isn’t working at all). Coaches must be paid, fees must be paid for fields, tournaments, uniforms. Who do you suggest pay for these?

@ManagerTactical Also i bet there is no pay-to-play model in China like there is in the US. Football should be free. The US restricts it's market of players by making parents pay

@orofinger @ManagerTactical And what has that “winning mentality” and this “South American/ European” combination gotten the USMNT? Surely you can see the difference in quality between Japan and USA, just look at their performances at the last World Cup (there is no comparison).

@ManagerTactical This is typical Japanese soccer that has been coached for years. The result is always the same. Japan never wins anything and has no world class players. Too regimented in their thinking . US combines south American European and American culture ( winning mentality)

@Javi_USMNT @TheBolivianYank @ManagerTactical Well, I can only speak for the Midwest, and growing up in the 70’s and 80’s, the coaches you paid for were all British, and a bunch of them came here in the late ‘70’s and early 80’s. A few coaches were from the Caribbean, but all the pro youth coaches were Brits.

Japan 🇯🇵 understands technical development and they have been doing it right over the past 25 years. I want to say the USA 🇺🇸 will but the reality is that 🇯🇵 will likely be the first non CONMEBOL/UEFA nation to win the World Cup over the next 20-24 years

@HanLoloFM1 @TheBolivianYank @ManagerTactical The streets aren’t big enough or are too busy in Japan to play, not in their culture to play in the streets. But a lot of their practices are done on fields of dirt with no grass and plenty of small rocks that make the ball bounce funny. Probably helps with their first touch.

@Javi_USMNT @TheBolivianYank @ManagerTactical We decided to go the England route back in the 1970’s and 1980’s when England did not have the best, or richest, league in the world. The decision was made purely out of language convenience.
